The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are nice, it has a nice gym area, and a pool area as well. The attached restaurant had really good food. There is nothing to do around the hotel. We walked a couple miles in each direction and it's just construction and homes. Nothing to do. So it seems it is just a nice hotel if you plan to go to the islands the next day.

From the moment we walked into the lobby to the moment we sadly had to say goodbye, we were treated with excellent service and kindness and even got a little history lesson about the country of Belize by the front desk clerk. The room was super clean, comfortable and quiet with a great view of the Caribbean Sea. And the large shower was a fun treat after a long day in the sun. The restaurant onsite had very attentive and super friendly staff and the food was the best we’ve ever had. We can’t say enough about Fort George Hotel and Spa. We didn’t partake in the spa services but we hope to on our next trip back.

We had a lovely stay at the Fort George - the staff and the Belizeans are really friendly and nice. The spa was good and convenient. And, the pina colada coconut cake was incredible <3

Excellent stay with warm hospitality—just one disappointing interaction My family and I stayed at Fort George from July 2–5, 2025, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, the location is ideal, and the staff throughout—from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping—were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. Their hospitality truly made our stay comfortable and memorable. We especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and had several great meals at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience ended on a less positive note. On the morning of our departure, while waiting in the lobby for our 8:30 AM airport taxi, my wife was approached by a man (who we later learned was the hotel manager) who asked if we were waiting for a tour guide. She explained we were waiting for our driver. After hearing the pickup time, he checked his watch and said, “So about 7 minutes,” before walking outside. A few minutes later, my wife was standing by the door when he returned at exactly 8:32 AM and remarked, “It’s 8:32, he’s late,” in a condescending tone. She explained that the driver had contacted her and was running a few minutes behind. The tone of the exchange felt unnecessarily critical and made us feel rushed out at the very end of an otherwise pleasant stay. That brief interaction unfortunately left a sour final impression, which is why we’re giving 4 stars instead of 5. That said, we’re very thankful for the excellent service.

Thank you to Keshawna, Hector, the Manager, Jackie, Jaipur, and Kaylon for making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, 4.5 stars. I do recommend including an activities director on-site to increase guests to mingle and enjoy the beauty of the courtyard.

Overall this is a very nice property. The area its in is something to be desired meaning had I known, I probably would have picked another place to stay.

The staff gave A+ service.

The only one thing that I can say was the workers were really nice. However the pool was really small maybe 20 people could fit and be comfortable. The sea view was not really a view at all the water was not even beautiful to look at. There was a bunch of construction going on the pictures made it look much better than in person

Nice renovation at this hotel

We loved our stay at Fort George. We had a group of 10 and everything was great. We enjoyed Tapas and wine special, rooms were excellent. Both the 2 bedroom penthouse and the King seaview rooms were great. The treehouse restaurant accomodated us for a lunch, everything was just nice, relaxing and perfect for what we needed. Staff was so friendly as well.

The staff was exceptional!

We had a great time at the hotel, the hotel is very new, and still needs a few minor finishing details, but overall excellent staff and good accommodations

Amazing hotel and restaurant staff

Modern renovated. Extremely clean and well designed. New wing being constructed between hotel and pier.

The property is beautiful and the interior hallways smell amazing. The front desk staff is wonderful. We ate two times at the restaurant onsite and were pleased both times. Shuttle service from airport was excellent. Walking distance to ferry terminal but with large bags is a hike. A taxi to the terminal is reasonable. We actually cancelled our reservation in Belize City at another property just to stay again at Fort George because we were so happy with our stay.

My stay was amazing. The room was clean and the linemen smell refreshing. customer service was excellent since; I was visited daily to find out if I needed anything, I enjoyed using the gym. I would definitely recommend others to Fort George Hotel.

Outstanding place to stay in Belize City. We spent four nights here. Staff is fantastic, the restaurant is excellent, very peaceful. Great gym, very nice pool which is usually empty and open until 11 pm. Highly recommend.

New and in good conditions.
