Great location, clean!

The new-opened hotel have very friendly enviroment and nice staff providing useful info. Though my meeting is in the south of the CBD, i can lend a fashin bicycle from the hotel. I feel I was in my horm w/o any pressure.

The room looked like a premium jail cell. View out of the window was a concrete wall, no fridge, no coffee maker, nothing that a standard hotel room should have! Was provided with a voucher for a welcome drink that I was not able to use as the rooftop bar was closed! Very unfriendly and uncooperative staff member as well. Terrible experience in the heart of the city. Expected way more from it for that price!

It was ok, but missed the mark. I usually try and be positive but this place markets itself as a chic inner city stay, the reality is it feels kind of cheap and is abit grubby. The quilt wasn’t in a cover and was foul and stained and the horrible industrial grade carpet had really weird stains too. Appreciate that the noise and arrests happening outside aren’t the properties fault but it all added up to a weird stay.

After a flight from Auckland to Perth, then a seamless transition into the train to the city, followed by a short walk from the railway station we were warmly welcomed to the Alex and checked in to our room for two nights en route to a cruise from Fremantle. We enjoyed the comfy bed and small hotel vibe and found the location perfect. A glass of free bubbles on our second night was appreciated (due to Silver Status) and also the bottles of locally filtered ice cold water to take to our room. Bar and reception staff were friendly. I’d recommend this to others.

I stayed for work, wanting to be near the train station to commute to Crown for a convention and attend meetings in the CBD and UWA precinct. Alex Hotel had been recommended by friends, and this was indeed a good location, clean with helpful and very friendly staff. I had been put off previously by the room rates, but it was low season and there was a discount through Expedia this time. However this is not for a business traveller and certainly not a place that I feel like I would stay if I was on holiday (except for maybe one night en route to somewhere else). Room was very basic (no chair, desk), iron/ironing boards were shared for each floor, complimentary tea/coffee was available but on Level 1. I understand breakfast at a home is expensive, but this seemed steep. In all, these things I can live with. The major issue was the noise. I understand that this is in Northbridge and I know what this place is about (I had a uni job at The Deen nightclub nearby). Bass from Universal Bar persisted well after midnight. The clubs are not going anywhere, but I did expect noise-proofing, and not having to rely on complimentary ear plugs. I had a "Slumber" room, and I am fairly certain the noise was not disclosed as an issue. I don't think I can justify the room rate, even with the discount. Stay here if you're keen for a big night out with your mates, but its not exactly a romantic getaway or suitable as a place to base yourself for extended business trips.

The hotel is located in a great location in Northridge. The staff was excellent. The lounge on the 1st floor was very comfortable.

I stay at the Alex whenever I'm in Perth. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Comfortable, feels like home. Comfortable room. Wonderful common area to work in. Incredibly helpful and warm staff. 'Industrial Organic' vibe just feels so good. Small cautions: As a business traveler, I like a small room, but be aware they are small. The smallest rooms don't have closets. Breakfast is continental only - no protein, and while there are gluten free options, they are minimal. To me that doesn't matter because there are a million great places for brekkie nearby. These are incredibly minor tradeoffs for an otherwise ideal place to stay.

A great stay. Post modern with a contemporary chic feel and a comfy bed, which enabled a restful sleep. A quality hotel in the heart of Northbridge. We will likely return again. Thanks.

Located right in the city. Friendly staff, close to library car park

Hotel is in very good location, close to train station and dining area. Rooms are simple and comfortable. Breakfast was different - if someone is meat lover may be disappointed but was fresh and well presented.

I’m done with 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotels and synthetic lobby fragrances hello allergies 🤧 this lil gem is a mighty hospo force combining inner city convenience and a minimal industrial energy. Stay here because it’s a vibe skip the checkin queues and snack on an anaconda or 2 at check in. Highly recommended.

Irish mid 30s stayed here while visiting my brother in Perth. Place was nice and clean. Nice ambience when you walk in. Bed was comfortable, lovely shower. Location was very central. Id stay here again
