Room was not very inviting. Wires hanging from TV some pink stuff hanging from air conditioning unit. Thermostat did not appear to be working. It was quite cool in the morning. Gentlemen behind the check in desk was not very welcoming did not even look up when we were waiting to book in. We had two rooms and he had taken credit card info for both rooms and then the billing for both rooms was on one credit card. Not sure why he would take info for two different credit cards. Price for the room was definitely too much. After saying all this the restaurant staff and food was very good. I would come to the restaurant but would not book a room here again. The restaurant had ambiance and that is what attracted me to this hotel when going thru Expedia. Rooms definitely did not live up to my expectations.

Breakfast was excellent and an unexpected perk! Bed was very comfortable. Cleaning good. Room overall good just a bit run down. Staff was very helpful as we had an issue with the TV and they came to the room immediately and fixed it.

The room was well cleaned, the staff both in office & pub were very welcoming, the dining experiences are highly recommended

It’s an older building though they seem to keep it up well, was clean, beds were extremely comfortable, staff were wonderful and the pub has excellent food and service. Absolutely excellent stay for the price

Very dated room, smelled old. The bathroom was dirty, tiles and corners on floor were dirty. Bathtub plug was discoloured and looked gross, never used. Uneven floor in room. Ac unit in window looked moldy.

Breakfast was amazing! The room was great, however, our bathtub was quite leaky and our AC unit projected some debris, which was unappealing. Staff was very helpful and stay was comfortable otherwise!

During check in they are not providing coupon for the complementary break fast after asking they are providing for one day each day we need to go and ask them .

Poor customer service after traveling all day, I wasn't acknowledged at the front desk, as the gentlemen was trying to work out schedules. I understood, but it would have been nice to be acknowledged...even a nod. He waited 8 mins before putting the person on hold. The room was sketchy, and loud. Free breakfast was indicated, but it wasn't free ($24+) and they didn't rectify it. I even went to front desk the first morning to ask where to go and was just told outside and to the left. I was later told I should have been given a voucher. Definitely would not recommend or go back to the hotel. However, I loved the waitress at the pub and the food and coffee was great!

Quite pleased with our stay.. Really happy with it been so accessible. Drive right to the door. And no interference. Restaurant was very good....food was impressive. Staff very friendly.

I loved staying there! The room is clean and has everything yiu need to live comfortably! Bed is big and washroom clean as well. The stuffs are freindly and helpful. I had very nice chat with one of the lady and she showed great warmth of Newfoundland hospitality! The complimentary breakfast selection is the best ever. I have tried moose sausages and the Eglish breakfast is great as well. Awesome food. It is located in the Rabbit town area, althought it is a little distance to downtown, the walk is enjoyable! I want to thanks the hotel for great services and hospitality. I have fell into with Newfoundland, St. John's is a beautiful city which I will for sure come back. And next time, I will stay here as well. Hopefully. See you soon! Highly recommend this place ❣️

The breakfast was ample and tasty, ordered off a regular breakfast menau, not just cold cereal and boiled eggs buffet.

The check in clerk was AMAZING and very apologetic and accommodating. The house keeping staff however are NOT doing their job!! Our first room wasn't even cleaned at all. Lights on, tv on, bed unmade, towels in the bathtub. Went back and again, the check in clerk was very nice and gave us a new room. This room however obviously hadn't been swept and there was BROKEN GLASS on the floor in numerous spots throughout the suit (bathroom behind door, in front of mini fridge, between bed and nightstand, etc). We will not be staying here again, just not worth the headache.

Value is excellent. Location is easy to get in and out of town. About a 25 to 30 min walk to the downtown harbour area or 20 to the nearest shops. Parking is free, if you are visiting at john's, renting a car is the best option imo. The pub is okay, albeit pricey, however everything regarding food and drinks is pricey in this town for some reason. The rooms are clean and comfy, AC can be loud. Laundry on site, however the dryer doesn't dry very well. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Good central location, well kept old charm, clean, helpful and friendly staff....and great food.

Breakfast EXCELLENT

We liked the fact it’s an older building with lots of character. We were steps away from the restaurant that serves great food. We took an uber to the Mary Browns centre which is only a 10 minute drive. Everything was so close, yet it was quiet
