Wir würden das Sociatel Medellín leider nicht weiterempfehlen. Das größte Problem ist die extreme Lärmbelastung. Wir haben während unseres Aufenthalts insgesamt drei Zimmer ausprobiert. Auf der Rückseite lief jeden Abend bis spät in die Nacht eine laute Party direkt unter unserem Fenster. Auf der Vorderseite begann dafür bereits gegen 5:30 Uhr morgens der starke Bus- und LKW-Verkehr. Die Fenster bieten praktisch keinen Schallschutz und teilweise ließen sie sich nicht einmal richtig schließen. Die Zimmer wirken alt und abgewohnt. In fünf Tagen wurden unsere Handtücher kein einziges Mal gewechselt und am letzten Tag wurde das Zimmer nicht mehr gereinigt. Die Kommunikation war ebenfalls schwierig, da an der Rezeption praktisch niemand Englisch sprach. Das inkludierte Frühstück (regulär ca. 30.000 COP) war leider sehr enttäuschend, ebenso der Kaffee – der schlechteste, den wir während unserer Kolumbien-Reise getrunken haben. Viele Gäste gingen lieber außerhalb frühstücken. Auch die beworbenen Gemeinschaftsbereiche waren größtenteils nicht nutzbar: Das Movie Theater und die Dachterrasse waren geschlossen. Die Garden Bar war zwar geöffnet, aber jeden Abend dunkel und unbesetzt. Die Gemeinschaftsküche war unbrauchbar – der Herd funktionierte nicht und es gab weder Töpfe, Pfannen noch ausreichend Geschirr. Die Lage in Provenza ist zwar sicher, aber sehr laut, touristisch und teuer!

Das inkludierte Frühstück (regulär ca. 30.000 COP) war leider sehr schwach, ebenso der Kaffee, mit Abstand der schlechteste, den wir in Kolumbien getrunken haben. Hinzu kommt, dass an der Rezeption praktisch niemand Englisch spricht. Außerdem waren zahlreiche beworbene Einrichtungen entweder geschlossen oder nicht nutzbar: Das Movie Theater war geschlossen, die Dachterrasse ebenfalls. Die Garden Bar war zwar jeden Abend geöffnet, aber dunkel und unbesetzt. Die Gemeinschaftsküche war unbrauchbar, der Herd funktionierte nicht und es gab weder Töpfe noch Pfannen oder ausreichend Geschirr. Das Hotel liegt direkt an einer stark befahrenen Straße und weit oben am Hang. Zur Metro läuft man ca. 30 Minuten. Provenza selbst ist sicher, aber teuer!

loved this hotel. It’s beautiful. Most people walk down the hill, but if you walk up and turn the corner, you’ll find jungle and flowing water right in the middle of the city. The staff were amazing and genuinely happy to see me every day. I left for a few days to Cartagena, and when I returned, I was met with smiles and friendly faces — it truly felt like coming home. Breakfast was great, and the small dining area was lovely. After eating, I enjoyed sitting outside each day with a cappuccino. The hotel recently got a new owner, and I had the chance to chat with him for a while. He’s a very well-spoken, intelligent man with big ideas and high standards. I’m excited to return in the future and see the positive changes he has planned for this place.

Great time

Booked a studio apartment for four nights. No A/c, no hot water. Does not mention anywhere while booking about these amenities. 150000 pesos if you have a guest(visitor). Poor quality towels. Gave me a room with broken wash sink and took them one day to switch room. Not going there again. Checked out after three nights and booked another hotel for one night since everything was solid booked due to flower festival .

Precio versus calidad muy distante , habitaciones básicas , camas de los años 80s y el personal del counter parecía forzado.

Window doesnt close fully. Laundry doesnt take money Not enough lighting in the room

Desatentis, los tendidos de cama sucios, la alimentación costosa y no es la mejor , los precios muy altos con expedia y la facturación electrónica un valor diferente al que pagué, eso para mirarlo con la Dian. Luces del pasillo donde estaba dañado, No vuelvo a ir.

Es más como un hostal para extranjeros. Las habitaciones dejan mucho que desear, tienen lo super básico, no hay aire acondicionado ni tv.

This hotel has a lot of potential but lacking in a few key areas. First the positive. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was excellent! No AC but wasn’t necessary, however no fan and that is sometimes necessary on warmer days. The prices for their beverages are outrageous and not even particularly cold. The reception was very friendly but the ARMED security guard harrassed me because the staff had not given me a wristband, something I did not see on other guests. I was wearing my American flag hat so maybe he was part of the “harrass the gringos” club encouraged by their new socialist, Maduro and China friendly, President? Most Colombians despise him and he will be gone in the next election unless he cheats like Maduro which is certainly possible. Overall I still give this hotel 4/5 stars because MOST of the staff were very friendly and welcoming . Replace the security guard and put fans in the rooms and I would give it 5/5 stars.

Staff was very rude. I forgot my passport but had a photo of my ID page on my phone which of course matches me. The staff demanded my physical passport, wanting to examine the stamped pages, and would not let me check in. My visas are none of their business. They would not respond when I asked for a refund since they would not allow me to check in, so I had to dispute the charge on my credit card since the room was paid in advance. I had to find different accommodations. Never again.

On our second day, we came back to the hotel only to find ROACHES crawling around the room. Easily, we counted about 10 between the ones we spotted and those we could kill. This all happened during the night; so when we went to the reception, they said we had to wait until the maintenance/room service morning shift came so they could clean. The problem is that they had already done the room cleaning service that very day. On another note, the room only has 1 window that faces THE FLOOR'S HALL. There's no other window.
