Didn’t know the swimming pool was closed so disappointing. Staying next week so hope the pool is open 🙏

We did not realise that this hotel had separate “wings” and we ended up in a nice Travelodge building. This was clean and fairly quiet but quite a trek to the restaurant. The shower in the room was oddly positioned so you couldn’t turn it on or off without drenching yourself. However water pressure and temperature were excellent. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t use the pool until later because of swimming lessons. This is not mentioned in the Expedia advert. Some of the staff were excellent and hats off to the head of housekeeping at the Mews. However the bar staff were unknowingly entertaining with their loud descriptions of management. It might be a good idea not to discuss them in front of guests. It was ok and for the price it was a nice one night stay but I would have been annoyed if we’d had to pay full price.

The room was clean and the bed comfy. Staff were attentive. Breakfast was excellent. Food in the bar in the evening wasn’t very hot but other than that, it was a good stay.

Excellent stay very relaxing. Lovely staff. So much so we’ve booked to come back again.

Location is stunning, could spend hours looking around the grounds. Room was lovely, bathroom a little small but definitely still fit for purpose. Great to have use of pool/sauna and gym which weren’t busy at all. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful day and night. Bar staff were friendly but could do with some additional support with serving, order taking etc. there was a wedding on when we arrived however did not effect our stay and didn’t hear any noise. Didn’t try any of the food available at the bar or evening meals but the breakfast was really nice and exceptional allergen awareness and as a coeliac lots of choice. Would definitely return and stay again but for potentially 2 nights to be able to enjoy the grounds and surrounding areas. Definitely worth the stay ☺️

If you get a room in the Waterhouse, it feels like a prison. A trek to the restaurant and bar. The building has no character or personnel working, you must walk to the main check in area for any service. The Waterhouse is nothing like the main building.

Weird showers in the rooms in the buildings away from the main house and very warm at night. Good food at both breakfast and evening. Would stay again

On arrival, the hotel is nothing short of spectacular. We booked it for the scenery and the amenities and they didn’t disappoint. The room, however, was disappointing. There are 3 separate buildings you could be put in, not just the main cover photo building. There seems to be a building designed with business stays in mind which I am sure is practical for that purpose. However, as we were there for a leisure stay, I was quite disappointed to be put in that building as it was lacking personality and had a very prison-like layout (if you have been in one then you will understand what I mean). I have attached a picture for reference. There was no air con in the room and no fridge either which I was surprised at, and the window overlooked a roof that staff were working on so it compromised any sort of privacy. It was a very bittersweet stay but I suppose you get what you pay for as the prices were good.

Beautiful surrounding. Hotel property is ok. On the first day at the reception I was given a room that takes about 6 minutes to walk,I went with 2 suitcases up a steep hill till the hotel area.the weather was really really hot.was not offered for someone to give me a hand! Then 1 flight up no lift.came there was exhausted as hell.no a/c in the rooms only small fan.did not sleep well 3 nights.in the morning 7.50 a.m working was going on on the roof really loud noise..so could not enjoy some peacefull sleep in the morning. All of this , ,I would not come back to this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and well-appointed with great amenities. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were consistently helpful and attentive. The only drawback was the lack of air conditioning, which made the room quite warm; I would recommend checking if a room with air conditioning is available when booking. Additionally, while the shower pressure was usable, it could certainly be improved. Despite these minor issues, I would happily stay here again, particularly during cooler weather seasons

The bar staff were extremely helpful and were able to create a variety of cocktails. Unfortunately, the restaurant had run out of Merlot and there was none in the entire building. The restaurant was empty for dinner but we were sat under the coldest
