In room 1 . Bed does not fit as room not large enough. Banged knee going around. Mirror in bathroom at side of sink. Difficult to shave. Poor selection of fruit at breakfast.

The property itself desperately needs significant investment, restoration and renovation. Reception and bar staff friendly on arrival. We were initially given room 5 - it had a double and 2 single beds and was filthy. Dripping liquid on the bedside table (not a stain, just not cleaned), no valance on the dirty/stained divan, handle missing from the chest of drawers. The furniture wasn't arranged optimally. Overall, it had a feel of a care home you'd be put in if you weren't nice to your kids! I requested a room change, which was offered with no quibbles by a reception staff member. We were moved to room 8, which was markedly better, but still not great. Real old world styling, but needs upkeep - peeling wallpaper, a badly repaired 4 poster bed, nowhere to plug the kettle in unless you put it on the floor, a small TV with no Smart capabilities (a luxury, I know), with a really poor digital service - turned off continuously randomly. The bathroom clearly had drain issues and had a foul odour. The saving grace of this stay was how nice the staff were. The breakfast was lovely, including the service. The cleaning staff need a good shake up and major investment & effective preventative mainentance is in great need.

I was in the Old Lodgings 5 miss walk down the road. Very thin walls, loud party on 1st night kept me up to early hours. Generally could hear everyone moving around. WiFi was off over 12 hours 1 day. Cleaner didn't empty bin 1 day. Pretty good Value for money though & good overall location

Our room was in the Old Swan,it is a property that the Old Lodge must own. It's a few minutes walk from the lodge.It was ok but wouldn't stay again. Breakfast was lovely,fresh fruit, croissants, everything cooked to order. The only niggle was that we went for a drink in the lounge about 9 o clock,and it was just staff stood there ,one was swearing,which I don't think was acceptable in a posh establishment and while guests were present . Check in staff were lovely,but we won't be staying again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We arrived and walked down to a room in another building , it was a dirty, poorly maintained disgrace, smashed window in the room , cobwebs , pint peeling g , lights hanging out if the ceiling and stains on the floor … SO we asked for a better room it was room 4 , ignoring the noise from in the bar the peeling wall paper and black mould and flaking paint it was ok ! Oh the bed was a 4 poster but not actually built more leaving together. The shower was pointless the smell from the drains horrendous. We would have complained but when we got back after an evening’s entertainment we came back to staff brawling and shouting at each other somewhere behind reception so gave up. When I complained in the morning I was asked to email in .

It is OK for one night for travelling purposes

This hotel is well located in Malton . I believe it is currently undergoing improvements which it certainly needs . The staff were all lovely, food very average .

i liked everything, the food, the room the view and the staff were really friendly and helpful. they are busy doing the outside of the building so hope to get there sometime to see how it looks when finished

Det er et meget gammelt og hyggeligt sted, med løbende vedligehold. Værelset var fint og rent, med rengøring hver dag. Personalet er utroligt hjælpsomme og venlige, det betyder også at bar og betjening var i topklasse, ligedan med morgenmaden, så vi kan kun varmt anbefale stedet.

Its such a beautiful boutique hotel. The rooms were so big and spacious with everything you need. The bar and breakfast/dining room restaurant really yum. Wonderful views, lovely gardens, free parking. Wild life on the lawns whilst having dinner. I loved it. The only drawback, it is not good water pressure for shower, but the bath was massive.

When we arrived about 5.45pm Sunday evening we could hear a lot of noise coming from the bar area . We went to our room and freshened up arriving back at the bar about 6.15pm. The bar was dominated by a group of "locals" who were worst for wear, shouting and swearing. My husband and I retreated to the terrace which was a bit cool. We asked if any managers were on duty and were told no. The staff were just youngsters and had no authority to deal with these people. We were told that the manager wouldn't subdue these people as they were regular customers. We will not be booking this hotel again. As for the room it was a deluxe room but was lacking in fundamental

rooms were clean and tidy Staff were very friendly and on arrival and throughout our stay. went out of there way to help or deal with any issue. great service. Breakfast was included. Good choice was offered and was delivered quickly and efficiently. Evening meals were great value for money and plenty of choice. Bar had a nice cosy relaxing atmosphere. The old lodge stay was as expected would recommend.

Some refurbishment going on but this did not interfere with our stay. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The bar was well stocked and a marvelous selection of spirits. The room was very well maintained and comfortable.

Personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam maar de gehele ervaring viel toch tegen. Dit hotel heeft duidelijk betere tijden gekend. Het ontbijt was de naam onwaardig en verdient veel meer aandacht. Het geheel is zeker geen vier sterren waard. Het personeel redt de eer.

Amazingly equipped kitchen. Everything spotless. Cosy beds. Lashings of hot water. The place was lovely and pleasantly warm, the the interiors were a delight.

Lovely quirky old hotel, friendly staff and huge bathroom. Very convenient for town and a lively green space as a garden. Perfect parking, ideal for us for a family vusit to Malton.

Absolutely beautiful building and grounds, room was huge and clean, staff were all so friendly. Very peaceful. Shops only a short walk away. Will definitely be staying again, myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn’t make use of the bar as we don’t drink but upon walking past it looked clean, cosy and a few friendly people enjoying a drink
