The property is placed in a perfect paradise right down the road from famous Rick’s Café known for the cliff jump in. This resort offers its own private cliff jump in with a bridge that connects to islands that you can jump from small intimate perfect for a couples. Not a place for a small children. The food served at this restaurant is phenomenal breakfast lunch, and dinner a must eat local dine in at your home resort we will definitely be going back. The rooms are your own private cabana.

Excellent place for a short term private stay

If you're looking for a quiet relaxing place to take it slow & easy, THIS IS IT!! Phenomenal views & access to the ocean off some short cliffs, water is crystal clear & very good snorkeling. Food is great at their reestaurant & the staff is super accomodating. GREAT spot. We will be returnming very soon

This is such a beautiful property in such a special place. It wasn’t very busy when I was there, but I think even if it was, it would feel very peaceful. The staff is amazing. Just absolutely amazing. I’m also including the Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs that just wander around the property. Theyre sweethearts. I feel bad for how many people feed them, though. Such a magical spot, the cliffs, the ocean, the aesthetic of everything. I highly recommend.

Beautiful property on the West End. We have stayed in Negril many times and this is by far one of the best resorts we have stayed. The location is perfect. The staff is incredible and Paul, the lifeguard, is a dear friend we met a few years ago. The Lodge food is amazing. And the 3 dogs there are sweethearts. Just a great laid back vibe you would expect in Negril.

Tensing Pen has beautifully recovered from Hurricane Melissa. The photos truly don’t do it justice. The grounds are stunning, perched right at the edge of the cliffs with breathtaking views of the sea. A continental breakfast is included and more than enough to start your day satisfied. You can swim and snorkel right off the property, which was one of the highlights of our stay. Paul, the lifeguard, guided us while snorkeling and pointed out incredible marine life. I wish I had an underwater camera — it was majestic. He even dove deep to retrieve sea creatures from the ocean floor to show us up close. We saw a giant manta ray, tiger fish, and blowfish. Absolutely unforgettable. The on-site restaurant is one of the most popular in the area, so reservations are highly recommended. The sunsets are spectacular, the atmosphere serene and relaxing, and the staff warm, friendly, and courteous. I would definitely return.

Loved the location on the cliffs. The resort is clean. There are beautiful sunsets nightly. Laid back feel. A great place to reset. Paul the lifeguard goes above and beyond.

Incredibly hospitable staff. Great location away from crowds of 7mile. Stop at Murphy’s for their pineapple lobster, Miss Penny’s and Kool Vybez.

Goergous property grounds and staff. Incredible location. The room itself was dirty and unkept. Do not stay in garden room if you are looking for luxury. Food is meh.

Beautiful resort, we only stayed for one night and loved it, wish we stayed longer! The location is stunning!

Tensing Pen is a fabulous place. It’s showing its age a bit, and isn’t what was when I came in 2012, when it was world class, but then Negril seems to have struggled a bit as well. Despite these deficits, it remains an amazing place to completely relax, unwind, and go off grid. If you like the bohemian feel and want to step away to another world, this is the spot. The natural beauty, combined with great food, and wonderful staff make this a hidden gem.

A Magical Retreat - Tensing Pen Hotel What a beautiful surprise! My husband and I travel extensively, and we believe that the hotel you choose plays a significant role in making a vacation truly memorable. I can’t say enough good things about the Tensing Hotel—it’s simply magical. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we had the entire place to ourselves. We stayed in a villa with an ocean view, and it was worth every penny of the upgrade. Waking up to the sight of the ocean each morning was nothing short of breathtaking. The food at Tensing is exquisite. The quality, the menu—everything is prepared fresh to order by a talented chef. It’s a paradise, secluded yet sophisticated, with a design that beautifully reflects Jamaican culture. We are definitely coming back! Beyond the hotel itself, the Jamaican people are incredibly kind and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. I don’t think this warmth is unique to just this hotel; it seems to be a hallmark of Jamaican hospitality in general.
