Choose a base for the visits you actually plan

Limbang Museum and Limbang Old Fort are separate entries in the Sarawak Museum Department's visitor information. The newer Limbang Museum opened in 2022 and has Administrative and Development galleries covering Limbang, Trusan and Lawas. A guide describing only the old fort does not necessarily describe the museum you intend to visit.

Meritam's volcanic mud pools are a trip outside town: Sarawak Tourism Board places them about 35 kilometres from Limbang. Staying on Jalan Buangsiol does not put them within a town-centre stroll. Plan the outward and return journey as part of that day, rather than choosing a hotel because a district-wide attraction is described as nearby.
