Very Nice

Hyggeligt hotel med utroligt flink personale. Beliggenheden er i top. Svømmehallen var desværre lukket pga. vedligehold og nogle af faciliteterne virker af ældre dato, men det ødelægger slet ikke helhedsindtrykket af et velfungerende og dejligt hotel.

Wir hatten wahrscheinlich einen schlechten Zeitpunkt erwischt. Der Pool war defekt , die Küche hatte Probleme, der Zimmerservice scheinbar keinen Schlüssel für unser Zimmer und so ging es leider weiter … nichts gravierendes, aber es summierte sich. An sich wirkt es schön. Der Aussenbereich ist toll. Der erste Morgen im Restaurant lief problemlos. Am zweiten warteten wir 40 Minuten auf das warme Frühstück obwohl kaum Gäste da waren . Das Buffett war noch nicht fertig gedeckt. Der Teppich im Haupthaus , riecht leider nach nassem Hund. Die Zimmer an sich sind aber sauber auch wenn so kleine Dinge auffallen, wie ein zerrissenes Bettlaken bei den Kinderbetten. Wäre alles kein Problem wenn man nicht im Vorfeld beim Check-in von der Rezeption so unhöflich z.B. auf eine dringend einzuhaltende Reservierung beim Frühstück hingewiesen worden wäre. Das war eigentlich das unangenehmste im Hotel. Die Dame beim Check in wirkte herablassend was nicht zu so vielen kleinen Mängeln passte. Wir können es aber trotzdem empfehlen. Ein nettes Hotel in wunderschöner Lage.

When we arrived the swimming pool was closed. The primary reason for booking this hotel. No information before arrival. We was informed it had happen unexpexted just before we arrived, however many other guest informed us it was not the case. We don’t know what is correct but special situation. When we got the room it was so full of mold that we was removed to another room. After 40 minutes of waiting for a proper cleaning we got the new room. We had to ask for some cleaning-tool as windows was still full of mold. Rest of the room was clean. Dinner was a fun experience. First round was Very good, second i tasted the worst risotto in my life. They do not have a proper winelist and what they have is extremly expensive. Breakfast can only be booked in separate timeslots and you need to wait long time before getting the food. Your not allowed to sit a the table you would like eventhrough not in use. When we ordered breakfast it was very untasty. The family next to our table gave up ever getting their food. When my wife got some tomates with mold - perhaps they store then in the windows - the waiter informed us it was normal. The reception did not agree but no new food or excuse was received from the waiter. When we checked out and informed about this the lady in reception no comments or excuse. Conclusion: if mold is your favorite taste and smell please visit this hotel!

This place was really cute! It was such a beautiful location tucked away off the road. I remember seeing it and being so blown away by how beautiful it was, and the grounds are amazing as well. My only complaint is that the walls are thin, and our neighbors were quite loud, but that is not in the staff’s control so I am not marking the review down. It did not disrupt the quality of our stay overall, just be aware and maybe bring some earplugs. Otherwise, it was fantastic.

Paid almost £300 for one night including dog fees, and it was nowhere near worth it. The room was tired and poorly maintained, with mould around the windows, damp, cracked walls and tiles, and dirty-looking carpets. Dinner and breakfast were both overpriced and disappointing. The only saving grace was the lovely staff and the beautiful location. We only stayed because we’d driven a long way with our four-year-old. Sadly, we wouldn’t return or recommend it at this price.

The view from our room was amazing.. we have stayed at 4 or 5 hotels this year and so far this was the best breakfast we have had

Fabulous setting , lovely gardens , good pool. Restaurant was a bit pricey but food was good.

The spa facilities were a treat, and the evening meals were excellent. The breakfast options were quite extensive, but the service could have been better.

Beautiful grounds and location !!! The hotel inside needs updating screams for a makeover , it’s smelly : like damp / mould the carpets are old and dirty but the decor is nice and has the potential to be massively improved , the outside is not reflected inside like they are 2 different properties . Staff all nice and friendly , pool could do with some loungers as there are only 4 to be shared by all families how ? Also the amount of chemicals used in the pool area made our eyes sting and was unpleasant , the pool temperature was perfect . The family room was basic again needs decorating and new carpets , if you have a pool automatically robes should be available in rooms . Breakfast was nice very tasty cooked bfast my husband enjoyed the black pudding said it was the best ! The only thing could be improved is that staff should replenish the bread , pastries etc as quick run out and staff didn’t check

The views were very beautiful as was the decor throughout and the room (deluxe king room) was huge. The lamb in the restaurant was the best meal of my life. 10/10

This hotel has the most beautiful surroundings- with wonderful scenic views. But it is soooooo dated. Rooms are big and spacious - but soo old and with carpets not really covering in the corners - windows full of old dirt and beds not worth spending the night in. Oh and the smell of old …If this place was renovated it would be an absolute gem. Food not that good - breakfast just the basics and not very well presented. The spa/pool has everything you need but again - could you fix the broken tiles the roof and make it just a bit more 2026 than 1986. The garden - the lake - the mountains. The location stunning!

Great breakfast and location. Room a little tired but great size. Food and drink onsite pretty expensive. All the staff were lovely.

Staff went above and beyond for my mother who was poorly- they drove for her prescription for an hour there and an hour back and checked in on her all the time. I have never known staff to be so considerate and friendly. They alone are worth coming back to this hotel for. Thank you.
