The location of the hostel is very good, 3 min walk from metro station and is at the center of city.
The staff in the hostel is very friendly and helpful, willing to answer our questions.
The room is clean and tidy. Room service everyday. Although the room is tiny, I feel comfortable staying in the hostel. The only minor problem is the light is not enough in the room.
I highly recommend this hostel.

Frontdesk staff is very friendly and you can borrow the microwave with him if u buy some food from supermaket. Perfect location with nearby Gran Via metro and u can walk to Sol in 15 mins. Offered basic breakfast and free wifi service.

Although the staff were friendly and responsive, there is no sound proofing so we could hear noise from other occupants, during the day and into the night.

The room was small but the bed was comfortable. The room was in an old building but was clean. The bathroom was small but clean and the shower had good hot water that did not run out. The old elevator was kind of cool. There was some loud music from a nearby bar one night but it didn't last too long. (bring ear plugs just in case). The spanish verandah opens on a side street from one of the main shopping areas of Madrid which is also part of their Madrid Broadway area.

De kamer was erg gehorig, je hoort het water in alle leidingen heel lang doorlopen. De badkamer was extreem klein waardoor op de wc zitten amper mogelijk was omdat je knieeen tegen de muur aankomen. Het bed vond ik ook niet leker liggen, kussen niet lekker en bed te klein. Ook was het erg warm en slecht geïsoleerd in de kamer. Ook is de kamer niet voorzien van een waterkoker of koelkastje. Het personeel was wel erg vriendelijk en de locatie is fijn gelegen in het centrum.

Bed was extremely comfortable.
Some renovations and maintenance required
Location excellent if you prefer to be at heart of Gran Via, all shops restaurants bars 100m away down side street, so quieter than directly on Gran Via.
200m to Gran Via Subway.
Little bit pricey for condition of rooms

I enjoyed my stay at La Fontana very much. The room was spotless, small but very functional. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location of the Hostal is incredible, within walking distance to many places you'd like to visit in Madrid and with excellent connections to the airport.
