I booked this hotel (over more convenient locations) because of the sauna, gym and pool facilities advertised. However, I did not use these as I felt uncomfortable- the sauna and gym are in the basement, you have to walk through a carpark and there are no staff down there. The gym only had some men there and I didn’t feel at all comfortable to use the sauna. You have to ask to use the sauna anyway, so you’d have to wait for it to warm up. The room was fine, there was an annoying noise (the aircon?) which I couldn’t switch off, but no big issues with the room at all- it was average. The general hotel is outdated and I would not return as a solo traveller, and would advise solo females not to go here- the area is also not too safe at night.

Dear Expedia Customer Support, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent hotel stay booked through Expedia and to request that this matter be reviewed. From the beginning of my stay, I experienced repeated issues that affected my comfort, rest, and overall experience. First, I purchased a three-day breakfast plan. However, each morning when I went to breakfast, the waiter had no record of my plan and loudly announced in front of other guests that I did not have one. Each time, I had to insist that I had already paid. After the first incident, I contacted the front desk and was assured it would not happen again. Unfortunately, it continued throughout my stay, which was embarrassing and uncomfortable. Regarding my room, I was initially assigned a first-floor room overlooking the street. I informed staff that I have noise sensitivity and requested a quieter room. I was told no other rooms were available, so I stayed the first night and slept poorly. The next day, I requested a quieter room again and was told my only option was to upgrade. I paid for a suite on the 12th floor. While the view was better and the noise was reduced, I experienced repeated disturbances late at night. Between approximately 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., I was awakened multiple times by loud knocking or clapping noises. En la mañana 2 de enero de 2026, hablé con la recepcionista del Hotel Occidental Atenea Mar, donde nos hospedamos mi familia y yo, y denuncié el robo de $700 dólares de un total de $2,000 dólares que había dejado en la caja fuerte de la habitación 404. Había revisado el dinero cuatro días antes y todo estaba bien. Estoy aquí desde día 24 de diciembre. Sí, desafortunadamente, $700 desaparecieron de la caja fuerte, lo cual solo pudo haber sido obra del hotel. La recepcionista solicitó un tiempo para que el personal de seguridad revisara las cámaras. Di solito non lascio recensioni, ma questa esperienza è stata nel complesso piuttosto deludente. Innanzitutto, il check-in è stato estremamente lento e macchinoso. Inoltre, il personale delle pulizie bussava ripetutamente alla porta per chiedere se fosse necessario riordinare la stanza; anche dopo aver rifiutato più volte, l’unico modo per evitare le continue interruzioni era appendere il cartello “Non disturbare”. Persino l’ultimo giorno, quando volevo riposare un po’ di più prima di lasciare l’hotel, dalle 9 del mattino in poi qualcuno bussava alla porta ogni mezz’ora. Anche dopo aver spiegato chiaramente che non avevo bisogno del servizio e che stavo per partire, dopo mezz’ora venivo nuovamente disturbato. Inoltre, la pressione dell’acqua della doccia era molto bassa, rendendo la doccia estremamente scomoda. In sintesi, questa è stata una delle peggiori esperienze alberghiere che abbia mai avuto.

Habe ein 27qm Zimmer bestellt und bezahlt, Vorort bekomme ich dann ein 19qm Zimmer (habe es vermessen),trotz Reklamation teilte mir man mit das diese Zimmergröße nicht verfügbar wäre und alle Superior Zimmer diese vorgefundene Größe wären, weiter zu bemänglen, King Bett , Queen Bett jedes Hotel da seine eigene Regeln, die Betten sind lediglich einzelne Modulbetten die zu einem Doppelbett umfunktioniert werden können wo ein Topper drauf gelegt, leider so schlecht, wenn man mittig liegt man die Lücke spüren kann, musste eine Zimmer wechseln weil eine Matrazze zu weich und die andere Matrazzenhälfte zu hart war, Personal nett, Sauberkeit Ok, Welnnessbereiche wie Sauna und Gym mann kommt nur über Autogarage dort hin, im Winter ist der im 2 OG Außenpool nicht beheizt daher habe ich diesen nicht aufgesucht. Ich weiß jetzt nicht ob Expedia ein Tippfehler in der Zimmergröße gemacht hat oder der Hotelbetreiber selbst, aber ärgerlich ist das Nutzer der Vorort dumm darsteht, die vorgefundene Zimmergröße hätte ich viel viel günstiger beim anderen Hotel bekommen können.

Nettes Personal und sehr gutes Frühstück. Teile des Hotels sind schon etwas in die Jahres geraten. Zimmertür machte schreckliche Geräusche, was wahrscheinlich mit wenigen Handgriffen zu reparieren wäre. Die Duscharmatur tropfte fast die ganze Nacht, konnte ich mit Engelsgeduld abstellen Lage des Hotels toll für Strand und Sportaktivitäten, für einen Besuch im Zentrum sollte man sich mit den Öffis vorher gut auseinandersetzen oder in ein Taxi investieren.
