This place was just ok. The staff wasn’t particularly hospitable or friendly. Everyone could use some training in customer care and basic courtesy. The entire resort could use some upgrading. Absolutely nothing to rave about.

The beach was beautiful. However they did not pick up trash on the hotel grounds until the next day, so sometimes trash cans would be overflowing and there was even one day when trash was on the beach in the morning. The staff is nice and friendly however maid service leaves something to be desired. The bathrooms were not always cleaned daily with a lack of consistency of service. The food was overpriced for the quality however they did their best to accommodate dietary needs. Overall it is worth it for the beautiful beach and relaxing atmosphere but do not expect a top notch resort.

It was our 1st time in Barbados and the location of the hotel was great. Walking distance to get some food, coffee etc. The pool and the beach were fantastic!! The hotel itself needs updating. The beds are hard as rocks. Service was okay but we ended going out to dinner each night as some of the restaurants weren’t open in the hotel. It was good for the kids to swim and play. Walking to Champers was a huge plus. All in all it was okay, but the hotel definitely needs some updating as a lot of people mentioned.

The restaurant services were horrendous. All the staff are painfully slow. I went to get a cup of coffee during the breakfast services, and they charged me $6 but had no milk whatsoever! Their reason was that “the store room was locked and the person with the key had not arrived as yet.” And this was while guests were seated in the restaurant for breakfast. The rooms were basic with coffee pods that belonged in a small machine and not a standard drip coffee maker, so I could not even make coffee in the room. On Christmas night, we had the option to do the all day menu in their secondary restaurant, instead of the preset banquet menu at the main restaurant. We waited over an hour for our food, and about halfway through the wait the server came over to ask us what we ordered. The food arrived cold. I have NEVER EVER been so disappointed in the service. When I went to the desk to ask to speak to a manager, I was rebutted with the following “gospel to the restaurant manager, who will speak to the shift manager, and only if that manager feels it is necessary will your issue be relayed to the general manager.” So son just gave up. Local family members never recommend Accra, and neither will I. Never staying there again.

The property needs some updating but location is perfect.

The area is pretty nice with the Quayside mall right opposite. Transportation is also easy and frequent from this area. The pool is great and the beach is nice with very easy access. On the downside there were a couple of big issues we reported in the room (a leak in the bathroom and a broken cabinet door in the room) which were not fixed prior to us leaving, even though we were told someone would come to fix. The bathroom leak caused a lot of inconvenience. It’s an older property and it has a lot of character as they’ve maintained the look from the outside. But I believe it could do other some work on the inside.

Great location and nice pool, but they could have cleaned for garbage around the pool a few more times through the day. Service is extremely slow at the bar and in general. Clean room but basic by most standards. The room telephone didn’t work, shower faucet was leaky leading to low pressure and both were not addressed during our stay.

A beautiful hotel, very clean and updated room. Staff are very polite and very helpful. Amazing view of the beach from my hotel room. Well kept property. Close to restaurants and shopping. I did not give 5 stars as the location of my room (above the lobby) was very noisy with talking, laughter and slamming of doors (light sleeper). Not sure if housekeeping is located on the same floor, hence, the noise. But I would recommend Accra and stay there again, just a different room on maybe a higher level. I did not do breakfast as there are places directly across from the hotel to eat.

I have been coming here for the past 15 years and unfortunately, year after year, the rooms are just very dated. The staff is helpful, the lobby is nice, but the rooms are dated and smelly. The beach is great, the service at the restaurant is not (this is not atypical from the whole island though), but for Barbados, the price of the hotel is not bad.

Need to get the rooms updated

For a 4 star rated hotel the rooms felt more like 2 star or 3 star. I did not like how they attempted to remedy the leaky toilet tank in the bathroom. The room had a weird smell. The bathroom was in poor condition. All that aside that staff was nice. The pool was nice. The grounds were nice. The hotel needs a little TLC.

Great service, beautiful hotel

Four staff members stood out for us. First was Mitchell in the restaurant. Cannot say enough good things about him, Very warm and welcoming, and efficient. Sara also went out her way to book a restaurant for us and followed up with an e - mail, then in person to ensure we received the information. Justin at the front desk was a huge help with advice, telling us what sites to see, restaurants in the area. He even contacted Champers restaurant to arrange seating and a birthday cake for me. Our chamber maid (I am sorry I never got her name, but we stayed in Room 319), was excellent. She was very accomodating. We were suffering from a 4 hour time change, which meant we were late risers. I know this screwed up her schedule of getting things done, but our room was always cleaned and made up when we returned, Loved the location and the beach.
