Accra Beach Hotel & Spa

The location is definitely the highlight. Being right on the beach is amazing, and the ocean views are beautiful. The beachfront access, on-site restaurants, and bar were very convenient, especially after a long day out. The hotel is also in a great area. There’s a mart, coffee spot, food options, and souvenir shops directly across the street, which made grabbing quick essentials easy. The popular Chefette is also a few steps away. That said, the hotel feels dated. I thought it wouldn’t bother me as much but I’m just used to better accommodations. While I understand that room photos don’t always perfectly match reality, our room was clearly advertised as having a balcony, including in the photos, and it turned out to be a faux balcony, with a flush railing with no space to sit or step outside, which was disappointing. And the front desk was no help with that. Additionally, the bathroom door wouldn’t lock, which was annoying. Overall, it’s nice enough if you plan to be out most of the day doing excursions and just need a place to sleep in a great location. However, if I return to Barbados, I would likely book one of the more updated hotels for a more comfortable stay.

Worst hotel experience in well over 1000 stays!! 1) No hot water. How can they clean anything without hot water? Health Dept should be notified!! 2) no air conditioning 3) toilet ran all nite long 4) arrogant staff that counldn't care less about us 5) Front desk manager/clerk Rachel was nasty and insulting to me and numerous others.

The staff was not friendly, food was ridiculously expensive. 75 dollars for a single breakfast buffet!!

Air conditioning was not working. And, no hot water. They were able to give us a fan, but room was still VERY hot. The hotel did take a very small amount off of our bill, but we really thought it was not enough. I would never recommend this hotel.

This hotel should not be open. Cannot provide basic services such as hot water or AC. No advance notice. Been off line for 2 weeks

There was no hot water for showers. Other than that, excellent location. Had a great stay.

From the moment we arrived at the front desk, there was this front desk woman name Rachel (she was the only white person working behind the desk) she was absolutely not friendly nor personable at all. We didn't come all the way to Barbados, paid a lot of money to stay at ACCRA Hotel to be treated like we're burdening her. I will stay somewhere else next time I come to Barbados. Also, the staff in the cafeteria are not so friendly either. My overall experience was very disappointing at ACCRA HOTEL.

the first room i got was without working airconditioning and sweltering, but eventually they were kind enough to find a new room, so that was great. However, there was no hot water in the shower

Positives: Location was great - right on the beautiful clean beach. Beach bar is nice, good cocktails. Common areas have been updated nicely. Spa staff are friendly and nice treatments. Negatives: Poor customer service - we checked in at midnight with a poorly toddler after traveling all day to get there. Our room was dirty when we go there and the beds hadn't been made. It took the receptionist and hour and a half to find us another room, which was only a pool view room vs the ocean view room that we paid for. No apologies. We complained and eventually got a bottle of wine, and 2 free lunch vouchers. Neither of which we used. When we tried to complain again, the Manager wouldn't talk to us. Hotel rooms are outdated and poorly maintained, and waaaaay too expensive for the quality that you get. The mattresses on the beds sank in the middle and looked about 20 years old. The ocean view room only has a small US size queen bed, when the pool view rooms have a king size, which makes no sense as the ocean view are more expensive??? The hot tub on the balcony doesn't work. We only got sheets and towels for 2 people, even though there were 3 of us. It took a week to get house keeping. We kept running out of toilet paper. Spa sauna and steam room weren't working for our spa day. Pool is nice but not very well maintained. The grid on the edge was broken and dangerous to stand on. Would I go back? Probably not.

The clerk on checking was rude and obnoxious the Aircondition in the room did not work and neither the hot water or fan. They refuse to move me to another room and was offered only a mere 20% refund for all these inconveniences. Worst Hotel Experience!!!!!!

There was no hot water or air conditioning in my room the entire stay. That was very disappointing! I called the front desk and they promised to send someone to look into the matter. They never did.

Breakfast buffet was great, but service was slow. Had to wait a bit for someone to bring coffee. Property was gorgeous with great water views.Front staff and manager were helpful. Other dining options in area, close to the boardwalk and restaurant.

Hotel was wonderful. Great beach and pool. Very nice. Breakfast is $37/person. Expensive. On Dec 25 there were no other dining options around - hotel restaurant had a great, yet expensive, Buffett. Around $90/person. Without options- we ate there. On all other days - cross the street and you have many reasonable places. Prices similar to the US.

Overall good but I purchased Ocean front and they gave me room with pool front/building front view with a partial oceanview and despite talking to multiple staff they still told me this is considered Oceanfront. The images on their website as well as Expedia do not show the Oceanfront room looking lthe way our room did. On expedia it shows a room with the Ocean right in front/directly in front of the room. No water bottles provided for the room either. Other than that the service overall was ok and location is good. A quick review - the hotel was slightly outdated as was noted in many reviews, but it was clean, everything worked and met the standard need for a vacation. The staff was pleasant but lacked some details to help, no one explained things like where to get coffee or some other basic stuff. The beach was amazing - everything was fun and enjoyable. A few minor changes and I would be giving this a 5 star review.

This place was just ok. The staff wasn’t particularly hospitable or friendly. Everyone could use some training in customer care and basic courtesy. The entire resort could use some upgrading. Absolutely nothing to rave about.

The beach was beautiful. However they did not pick up trash on the hotel grounds until the next day, so sometimes trash cans would be overflowing and there was even one day when trash was on the beach in the morning. The staff is nice and friendly however maid service leaves something to be desired. The bathrooms were not always cleaned daily with a lack of consistency of service. The food was overpriced for the quality however they did their best to accommodate dietary needs. Overall it is worth it for the beautiful beach and relaxing atmosphere but do not expect a top notch resort.
