Very nice hotel with very friendly staff, fluent in English. Great breakfast included Bulgaria’s famous yogurt, scrambled eggs, sausage and European-style cold cuts and cheeses. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the gold-bricked streets of the historic downtown. Limited dining options near the hotel but a small market with fresh vegetables, bottled water and Cokes, etc. is a three-minute walk.

Started with having to climb seven flights of stairs because lift wasn’t working then the room and bed smelt badly of cigarette smoke despite asking for a non-smoking room. Everytime I went to reception they ignored me and continued speaking to other employees in Bulgarian as if I didn’t exist. The breakfast was nice and staff in dining room were pleasant.

The room is quite small and dimly lit. The furniture is dark brown and so is the carpet. We were there in mid April and found the room very warm. We opened the window to let in some cool air but that was a short term solution because of the street noise.

Personnel accueillant et serviable même s’il ne parle pas français.On arrive à se faire comprendre.Le repas du soir et le petit déjeuner sur place est vraiment un plus lors d’un séjour hivernal car ressortir le soir est difficile avec des températures négatives
