My stay was great
But the parking lot could use a cleaning
I noticed a shampoo/conditioner that are usually found in the shower on the grounds when I arrive and was never picked up. A good sweep and pick up cigarette butts would be nice. Other than that. All was good

The floors in the rooms were dirty (could not walk around in socks without them getting extremely dirty). Under the beds had not been dusted in weeks (a number of large dust bunnies - gross).
The parking lot was a mess, bumpy and a lot of cigarette butts and garbage throughout the parking lot.
Rooms were quite small for a family of four. Would not suggest for a longer stay when a couple of nights.
The continental breakfast was a standard offering, nothing special but okay.
Staff was friendly and check in process went smoothly.

I’ve never before complained about a hotel stay but feel like I need to say something this time. We have stayed at this property a few times before as it is on our way to/from Thunder Bay from our home in Eastern Ontario. We have never had a negative thing to say but now the hotel is looking very old. The carpet and couch in our room were very dirty looking and the room smelled a bit mildew like (almost like a wet dog smell). There was some sort of dirty filter from the air conditioner propped up in the corner next to it and the couch. There was also hair all over the bathroom floor. The bed and linens were all very clean looking and the staff were very friendly. But I think we will look at staying elsewhere next time until some updates are done.

The room was clean, not spotless. There was a thick layer of dust and hair on the baseboards and the carpet in the hall needed a vacuum badly. The beds were not very comfortable but I have a bad back.
That being said, the staff were excellent, the breakfast was good , and the room was nice

The hotel is dated. The room was okay, but the furniture was old and worn. The staff had poor customer service skills. When I arrived, Jvagel was rude, raised his voice at me, and tried to force me to pay a $25 insurance fee for one night in an old, outdated building. I felt completely unwelcome.
The room wasn’t clean. The toilet was dirty, the desk chair was worn out, and the beds were uncomfortable — old and very hard.

Staff was friendly. Hotel was very dirty. 2 other families cancelled their reservation as their rooms were filthy. The one bed looked like someone had vomited on it or bled all up the mattress. When mentioned the front staff said it was cleaned, but we suggested it needed to be thrown out. The floors were extremely dirty, looked like they hadn't been vacuumed or swept in weeks. It looked like bugs by my toilet, so I asked the cleaner to remove them but he used a Swiffer without the Swiffer pad and moved them over to the door jam where they couldn't go into the hall because it was raised. I asked him for a broom to sweep myself and he said he had no broom.

The front desk person was absolutely fantastic. The lobby was full of people trying to get rooms and he served everyone with excellence and the greatest of attitudes. Extremely pleasant experience. The young man in the morning upon check out was equally as profession and efficient. 10 out of 10 for the staff. Bravo!
