When we are checking in at the office, the lady say "no smoking allowed at the property!!..only at the designated area" I didn't want to say anything the office so disgusting smokey smell.

Nice and updated room,great view of the ocean nice to walk the beach when the tide was out.

I was charged a $200.00 deposit and was only given a $161.23 refund.

OveraIl, it felt like guests are tolerated there but not welcomed. The place needs a lot of love. As an older motel and keep in mind, there is no AC when you book. They do not advertise AC but I think a lot of travelers just assume so keep that in mind. It can get very warm in the room. The location is the selling feature here with a stairway right to a private section of the beach which was wonderful. However, the rooms that are available to book don't match the photos so they my be older. I was surprised that the main floor with the best view was clearly for the property owners perhaps? The blankets hanging for window coverings made the property look trashy and not well cared for. Most rooms face other rooms across the lawn but we moved our chairs over to view the water. I would have been disappointed with a second floor room because then there would be no real view. There were many rules and everything seemed to cost $25 if you break them. There is only one cleaner I believe which is why check in is very late at 4pm and check out is very early at 10am. They have rules about what you are allowed to cook as well. Nothing spicy, no fish and cameras everywhere, reminders to clean the dishes or get fined, no coffee. There is a long list to read and sign at check in. Bathrooms are tiny, curtains are broken resulting in no privacy or blocking of sunlight, sliding door curtains don't close all the way. The various issues are not charming as they would be in an old family cabin.

You are right on the ocean. Our patio opened up to a garden courtyard. We watched the sun set on the ocean each night. The area was gorgeous! Lots super close by to do.

We arrived 35 minutes before check in & were advised there would be an $75 early check in fee even though the room was ready. When we did check in the young lady told me she would have liked to let us in early but in the past she got in trouble for letting guests in 15 minutes early without charging them an early check in fee. Once in the room we read the rules. There was a $25 fee for a lost key, a $75 fee for a late checkout. It seemed the owners were trying to squeeze every penny they could from their guests. The room was much used & little loved. The bathroom smelled musty probably because fan didn't work at all but was capable of making a lot of noise. The shower caddy was broken. There had been hooks behind the door but they obviously fell off and were never replaced. The towel rack had been there once but never replaced. The holes were had been filled but never properly painted over. The only good thing was the view and the beds were reasonably comfortable. The young lady at the desk was very pleasant & helpful. Considering everything, only staying here if this is absolutely the last place available! I would move on to another place. I will not ever be staying here again.

We have used this property a few times before because of their location but the property internal maintenance is questionable. The warning rules on extra conveniences and services are beyond on what many properties demand. Most in house maintenance is on demand which we discovered after no towel replacement for the extended days we were there. Although there were some room updates from our last stay ...they have a ways to go for expected improvement! The kitchen facilities are dated and in some cases unserviceable Location is their advantage We think we are done with this place !

Room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Couldn’t beat the view right on the ocean. Enjoyed sitting on the patio off our room in the morning watching the ocean.

Lovely view. It has direct access to the beach down a short aluminum staircase. Clean and comfortable, nothing fancy. Shower only. Could hear some traffic (it didn’t bother us though). We had a relaxing and serene time enjoying the view, spectacular sunsets and long beach walks.

It's an older motel that faces the beach. The sea-wall has been gradually collapsing over the years, and I'm sure the owners know the whole place is on borrowed time. (I believe one structure was already lost.) So there isn't much long-term investment in the structure, but the rooms are clean and well-appointed, with all of them facing the water and the central lawn to some degree. I keep coming back and so long as you come with appropriate expectations, I think you'll do fine. I prefer upstairs rooms, but the downstairs ones do have direct access to the courtyard lawn and stairs to the beach.

Check in was to late -4:00 pm. The room was fine, comfortable bed.

The stairs to upper rooms was in serious disrepair; to the point that those rooms should have been closed. The whole place was in need of a complete update. Electrical wires gerry rigged from outlet to appliance. Check-in staff was efficient but less than friendly. We had not stayed here before and will not stay here again. Not much good to say about Samd Pebbles.

Good housekeeping and nice beds with kitchenette. Waterfront property with beautiful view of Qualicum. We luckily spotted two young deers wondering along the beach right in front of the inn for a good roughly five minutes.
