The property design itself is unique. It’s close to the main avenue, but still private. The staff was exemplary, everything about our stay was 10/10. Muchisima gracias!

Loved the location of this place! The neighborhood felt very safe, and I was completely comfortable walking around on my own. The staff were consistently pleasant and helpful throughout my stay. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the WiFi was very unreliable. I had to go to nearby coffee shops just to get a stable connection. Otherwise, it was a great experience!

Hotel Mainao is a hidden gem in Puerto Ayora. Spacious, clean rooms, delicious breakfast offerings, courteous and efficient staff, and striking Barcelona-inspired architecture make this family - owned hotel a top choice when holidaying in the Galápagos.

Our 10 night stay at family-owned Hotel Mainao was delightful and memorable. We enjoyed its beautiful Barcelona-inspired architecture, striking mosaic tile motifs, clean rooms and an expansive terrace overlooking a quaint, quiet street. Athenea, Amanda and Alex are excellent hosts and gave us their very best attention, while the kitchen staff provided a sumptuous breakfast each morning. We felt at home throughout our stay. Honestly, I couldn't imagine a better place to stay in the Galapagos! The staff at the hotel was beyond helpful and always was looking to make our trip better. They helped us plan some activities on days when we had some free time. It is close walking distance to the Main Street and an easy and quick 10 minute walk to the pier and supermarket. If I ever go back to the Galapagos I will 100% be staying here.

Excellent stay for 2 nights. Super friendly staff and the breakfast was delicious. Would stay again. Beds very comfortable. Close to the main road.

Clean and spacious facility with attentive and helpful staff. Well situated to walk to all areas of Puerto Ayora, while being set back from the main streets so that it is quiet. Enjoyed my stay.

This property is so unique in its design--like a Spanish villa. TIt is clean, bed comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was helpful and spoke enough English to communicate. The French/Spanish/English speaking young woman was outstanding. Very polite & did a great job of explaining about not using the water to brush our teeth or drink on the Islands, how they provided bottled water & a refill station. The breakfast was nice--eggs as omelet, fried, or scrambled. The mango juice was EXCELLENT! As was the papaya & pineapple we ate with breakfast. There is not an elevator so if you have difficulty hauling your luggage (they will help)--or yourself up multiple, narrow flights of stairs, you should ask for a ground level room.

Very nice place. The property is quite and clean. Staffs are very nice and helpful. The location is very convenient. About 10 minutes walk to the pier for ferries to other islands and tour. i

Functional. Nothing fancy. But practical. Not on the waterfront. But the Marina is literally few minutes away. Lot of dining options. Athenia was very helpful at the front desk.

The Honeymoon Suite (same price as other rooms) is absolutely beautiful - rounded ceiling, ample space, private balcony, and 180 windows. The bed was huge and comfortable. Staff was highly attentive and provided many recommendations throughout. Would highly recommend!
