The rooms need at least an option of having more light. I get the theme for the hotel, but still - the lack of light in the room was deeply inconvenient. The most disappointing part was the pool area. When I visited in 2022, the pool setup was absolutely amazing for summer - cocktails in a very elegantly done Moroccan themed poolside. Great vibes, great drinks. Now - all that is gone, and the pool cabanas aren’t even properly set up. This was a real disappointment as it was the key reason I’d booked the crazy bear, other than the convenient location. The other challenge is parking - it states free parking but it’s just public street parking. Once you find a space for your car nearby - move it at your peril! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was nice enough. The main draw is the location, the nice classic Beaconsfield style building the hotel is in, and the room availability.

On arrival, staff were informative and helpful. Room was extremly small (as expected) but fine for 1 night. Plenty of dust but its because everything is black so even if you have just cleaned, it looks dusty. Drinks and pool area nice, not the cheapest but acceptable. Food in thai was nice and didnt have to wait very long. Room and various areas of the hotel are in need of fixing (cracked mirrors, sinks etc) the property design is so high mai tence its almost impossible to keep this interior nice for more than about 3 yrs, so there are some parts that are due a renovation but didnt impact the stay. Check in and out was easy, however, after leaving, i recieved an email telling me they wouldnt refund the 150 quid deposit because they had photographic evidence that we had smoked in the rooms. To be very clear, they have no such thing as neither myself or partner smoke. After calling and speaking to manager and making my feeling very clear, she agreed to refund it as a "gesture of goodwill". It is not a gesture of goodwill to give somebody back thier own money that you have attempted to steal. So sadly as much as we would have returned and recommended, i know feel that they have deliberatly attempted to rip me off and therefore, i would advise to avoid.

We said in a snug was very clean it was a little smaller than expected but had everything we needed for 1 night, we had cocktails and snacks at the bar which were very nice and dinner at the Thai restaurant which the food was delicious and the breakfast in the morning was fantastic will definitely stay again.

Room was looking tired and wasn’t the cleanest. Lots of small detailed cleaning is required, extra attention to the woodwork & fittings. Thai restaurant wasn’t very good, over cooked chicken starter, old dressing. Main of Pad Thai was very over cooked, meaning the noodles difficult to eat. Bar staff & reception staff were very good and helpful.

The rooms are really small and cramped , the whole hotel is just a pure money making scheme from 125 day beds to minimum Spend on everything , ruined the experience wouldn’t use again.

Amazing hotel, very different rooms but so cool. Lighting can be a bit dim in the rooms but for us it adds to the coolness.

Lovely place, highly recommend, Thai restaurant brilliant and staff absolutely amazing, best I’ve very had the pleasure to meet. Breakfast expensive £20 for continental and an extra £30 for English (£50 for 2 people). Would recommend

Lovely stay. Very quirky room and bed was really comfortable, staff lovely!

Good things - clean room and nice outdoors seating area by pool. Poor things - no HD channels in bedroom available to view. Complained to front desk but nothing done about it. Only one hanger available in first room. These were at least added to when issue raised. Shower holder not secure on wall in first room. Shower holder even worse in second room meaning water sprayed everywhere. Plugs by kettle in second room failed to work so had to boil kettle resting on bed. All smallish things in themselves, but combined made for poor experience.

We stayed here 6 years ago and had an amazing stay so we were hoping it was still as good and it was, I actually thought the reception staff were much nicer this time. Rooms are just fabulous and super clean, pool area is so lovely and they do the best dirty martinis :) Honestly this place is one of my favourites !

One of the key features of this hotel is room styles we had a decadent room the copper bath in the middle of the room which unfortunately could not hold any water as the bath plug leaked so what ever went in pretty much drained away and then to add to that the water was stone cold as the tap did not work correctly and also you could not shut off the shower unless you had the strength of Hercules, why is none of this checked before the room is given out, a shame as last time i stayed here it was a good experience now the rooms seem tired and for the prices being paid for the room and food and drink they need to do better

Incorrect picture of the hotel on your website. Our room was across a busy road, so couldn’t practically use the pool.

Quirky but fabulous ‘Snug’ room. Excellent staff. The pool area was not overly crowded. Excellent food too. We had a fabulous stay.

The room was beautifully presented and we enjoyed using the pool. Staff were really friendly. Unfortunately the biggest let down for us was the shower in the room. It wouldn’t stabilize kept turning hot then really cold. Couldn’t enjoy it. Other than that a lovely stay.
