The staff were all incredibly cheery and helpful. The food was excellent (coleslaw to die for!). The local beer, Hicks, was a good temperature. Fantastically cheap breakfast of anything! Dogs welcome in any room. England World Cup game was televised but the supporters were put in a large TV room away from the residents.

Amazing staff, very kind and going above and beyond. They washed my uniform because I desperately needed it the next day. Clean and very comfortable rooms, with great selection of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits.

BEWARE!! WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Had to sleep in our car.
I received two letters of communication from them stating check in was until 11:30 pm. We arrived at 10:45 and it was locked up, dark and no one answered the door or the phone. Hotels.com also tried to get a hold of someone but no answer. NOTHING!! We spent the night in our car with our daughter as no one else had availablity at that hour. Cold, no bathroom facilities — sitting in our car with our daughter all night—-simply the worst. We left multiple voice mails, texts, emails. No one even got back to us to apologize or refund us. I’m still in shock we could be stood up like that after two communications saying check in was until 11:30. Am still stunned. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Even though this is a brewery owned pub it still has its own individuality

We arrived and the scaffolding was around the pub making it look like a builders yard. The stairs to the bedroom were filthy, dirty linen was outside the bedroom door. The bedroom was outdated and not nicely furnished. The pub was generally very run down with the food service area looking dirty. Tables had not been cleared from lunchtime at 3.45pm.
The whole place looked tired and needy a good clean

The Farmers Arms is especially welcoming to dogs. My dog even was given a sausage for her breakfast everyday. Bedroom was really clean and inviting with superb shower. Parking was safe and very easy too

Gorgeous building, super helpful staff but room street view was noisy and too hot to close windows. Apart from the noise 10pm-midnight was lovely and would still recommend as long as you not early sleepers. Amazing breakfast ! Yum

The pub is run by a lovely family, don’t think I’ve ever felt so welcomed. Room was clean and comfortable with every thing we needed, plenty of towels, great over bath shower, tea and coffee etc. We had a great meal standout dish was home made cow &ale pie and the wonderful home made proper puddings. Good choice at breakfast of cooked to order dishes. Great place to stay and we will stay again if we revisit area.

Gary and Jacqui - the Landlord and Landlady made us feel genuinely welcome as did their Staff.
The Restaurant Menu provided a good choice and is reasonably priced.
The Room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
We will be returning as Guest again but we felt we left as Friends.
We both recommend The Farmers Arms in St Merryn as an ideal base for a Weekend or longer in a proper Village Pub. You will need to book in advance for Food and Accommodation as it is a very popular Pub.
