Fantastic location, fantastic service - staff could not have been friendlier! Had a lovely romantic and relaxing stay! Will come back!

The table in the downstairs restaurant where we were seated was in direct line with a door which was constantly opening and shutting which obviously caused a quite considerable draught! Second night we ordered a sharing steak platter- the steak was inedible- we were compensated by not having to pay for the starters? On leaving we spoke with the manager who said he was addressing the draught situation and ordered the chef not to use Rump steak in future

I loved this pub and the rooms. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the location is unreal and the food amazing. I would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

Great pub with rooms, comfortable and well equipped. Busy so service not as good as previous stays but staff polite and helpful. Excellent pub grub!

Fabulous and amazing location

Idyllic spot in Hope Cove. Room needs a bit of TLC - walls were dirty and in need of repainting in places, window latches were broken,some cushions on the beds were stained, breakfast was cold on our second morning - but overall we loved our stay. The staff were all helpful and friendly, Parking was easy enough at a cost of £10 for 24 hours. It’s a pub so expect noise in the evenings until late. The rooms were well equipped and no problem to ask for anything extra if needed. It’s such a beautiful area, gorgeous views. We would definitely stay again.

I wish there was a lift

Wonderful location, welcoming staff, bit noisy as we were over the deck above the kitchen, and think toilets underneath us had a macerator malfunctioning as it kept starting and stopping all night but nothing the staff could really do about that! Food was good and beaches nearby were lovely. Overall, very nice

Most enjoyable stay at the Hope & Anchor. The location is amazing, beautiful views of the beach and the coast, lovely balcony to enjoy a meal and a drink overlooking the sea. Nice and comfortable rooms, delicious food, most friendly staff.

More space in the room to store clothes. More rails/hooks to hang wet towels in the bathroom. Otherwise good room.

Little piece of heaven and THE comfiest bed ever!

Excellent Hotel, located right opposite the beach. Staff were extremely friendly and food was good, both at breakfast & dinner. Great size room, with amazing views. There is parking next to the Hotel in a pay & display car park, which is £10 for 24 hours

The location is magnificent, this is such a stunning part of devon, and you walk out the door basically onto the beach! The room was beautiful, with colour and texture and charm. the only slight against it was the only parking is the public carpark nextdoor so about £10 per day, but thats not much of a gripe in the scheme of things and they were super dog friendly. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Friendly staff, great food, beautiful location. The room was fantastic, huge bed, great shower, really great staff working there. Wednesday night free quiz is great fun too!!

Reception was friendly and efficient. Room was very nice great decor and facilities. Bathrobes!! Nice toiletries.

Lovely people and place. Exceeded my expectations in most areas.

Just spent 2 nights at The Hope & Anchor and had a fantastic stay. We arrived on Boxing Day a bit early for check in and although the restaurant was packed and the staff were really busy we got a very warm welcome and were able to go to our room. We had lunch and evening meal on the first day which were excellent. The breakfast was lovely (scrambled eggs were perfect and the overnight oats excellent). The room was very clean and warm with a nice view of the sea. There was a lovely welcome bag for the dog with lots of thoughtful things included. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The young girl serving breakfasts was particularly good. We were able to park on the road in front of the pub as it was out of season and the costs of the car park next door were reasonable. Will be booking again for next year!
