Incredible location in a wonderful village. The pub is fantastic with good food and friendly staff. The rooms are cosy and very fitting of the location. Comfortable bed, good shower, great toiletries. AC was very effective during the heatwave and we only needed it on for short bursts. Breakfast was fantastic.

Excellent one night stay at the Hope and Anchor. Lovely room, well presented and clean with a view out to sea. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had evening meal and breakfast which was also very good. Easy parking in the pay and display car park next to the pub. Would definitely recommend.

Hope Cove is a lovely place to stay. Food at the Hope and Anchor was five star. Staff were friendly. We did feel however that certain parts needed more attention. There was thick dust under the dresser in restaurant area.
There is a paying car park next door which was £12 for 24 hours.

Lovely hotel, with a beautiful view of the sea and sunset.
As we were staying in exceptional times of heat this weekend, there was only one fan in the room and the windows barely opened. There is air-conditioning being installed but it was not working yet.
Breakfast was slow and not very much supply, the items soon ran out, and when we asked for additional croissants, only 3 were brought, for a full dining room, so they went straight away, other items were not replenished on the self-service table, ie milk, fresh fruit. The cooked breakfast was good.

Air conditioning in the room did not work
Bit poor as we were in a mini heatwave. Could not use our room from 3pm as it was only just starting to be deep cleaned after having a dog in the room.
On the evening we had to wait for two hours for food. Not told that when we ordered. The place was just short staffed and it showed. My partner was told by the manager that our meals would be compensated due to really poor service and presentation. That hasn't happened. The next morning was better. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly. Overall I think the pub was just too short staffed. For the money we paid,it is not good enough . I do feel ripped off by the hope and anchor. Shame.

Staff lovely. Breakfast good -although took a long time. Great decor. Comfy bed. Nice bathroom. Good smart TV. Great location.
Not a good night's sleep either night.
Sea view over some industrial bins and a corrugated roof that gulls sit on making a load of noise. Industrial bin very loudly emptied at 7am one morning. Window faulty so you could hear all noise outside.

The table in the downstairs restaurant where we were seated was in direct line with a door which was constantly opening and shutting which obviously caused a quite considerable draught!
Second night we ordered a sharing steak platter- the steak was inedible- we were compensated by not having to pay for the starters? On leaving we spoke with the manager who said he was addressing the draught situation and ordered the chef not to use Rump steak in future
