We were here for my mother’s funeral and the hotel owner was very accommodating allowing us to check in early (after flying all night from the US) to freshen up, before heading to the funeral.
Located in the center of town, walking distance to everything. For a 16th century building full of history it’s nice to hear about the history of the old ‘Coach House”. Annabelle and Keith who work in the bar/restaurant area are wonderful and welcome you like family. Julie is also a very hard worker, and made sure our room was always clean and stocked. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very close to city centre and the local bus station. Comfy bed and very helpful staff members. Will visit them again.

Very tatty at the back of the hotel was not fully open and it was an Indian restaurant. No breakfast. There was a toilet roll in the bathroom which was soiled on the side would not stay there again.

When I checked images hotels looks in decent condition however when I turned up, it was a Indian restaurant, hallway smelled of strong curry, the room they gave me was a room converted from bathroom to bedroom, it felt like a refugee camp rather than a hotel

The hotel was locked when we arrived, the whole building had a strong smell of Asian food, there was no soap in the bathroom. The room was cold. And now I’ve been fined for using the hotel car park and have to dispute it. Won’t be returning

Do not book a stay if you want a good nights rest. The toilet was dirty the room smelled musty and it was overall a bad experience. There wasn’t even hand soap to wash your hands.

I could not stay here - the place was horrible - I pushed the stuck door open and not one person was around - not one.
It was really sad - but unbelievably in horrible shape.
I took some photos but they don't do justice to how bad it was.
I am sorry to give such a bad review - a guy called me later but hung up on me when I said I don't expect a charge.

This “hotel” should be removed from all booking sites. The rooms are seriously in need of a refurbishment and the stair and landing carpets should be destroyed as they are so dirty. The public areas are also in dire need of a make over. All furniture is worn and dirty and the picnic benches in the outside area are worn and scratched.

Weve stayed in some undesirable hotels but this one tops them all . Dirty , dated and the slats on one of the beds fell off everytime you moved .

Stayed in room number 9. Apparently has been refurbished, but unfinished. The room smell so bad, the shower tray was blocked so I managed to shower and my husband couldn’t as the tray flooded and it looked disgusting. We could talk to someone about it as when we leave early in the morning there was no receptionist and when we get back 00:00 there was no one either. The mattress was really bad, no heating and a very thinly duvet… So it was definitely not worthy £97 for 2 nigths.
