Meget hyggeligt hotel med masser af charme. Venligt personale. Tydeligt, at lokale kommer der en fredag aften for at spise eller gå i byen. Det giver en hyggelig stemning. Det kan dog høres tydeligt, når folk står og snakker på gaden. Fin morgenmad.

The hotel is being refurbished inside and outside which it needed. Service is very good, dinner very good, breakfast is basic continental. Secondary double glazing on a listed building means its noisy. I would still recommend it as a budget hotel.

Wir hatten einen guten Aufenthalt im Hotel. Es gab eigentlich nichts auszusetzen, nur das Frühstück hätte etwas vielfältiger sein können. Sonst wären wir sehr zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich, die Betten sehr bequem.

On arrival there was road works outside the hotel which we were unaware of. I had messaged to ask where to park but got no answer. The parking is payable across the road and behind some houses. The hotel building is very old and the bar area is quite nice. The two young lads on the bar were very nice and friendly. The room we had was in need of decoration and updating, not in good shape. We had drinking facilities provided but I’d advise take your own as the ones given were to certain tastes. The bed was quite comfortable. On the last evening we went downstairs to get a drink etc and the place was all in darkness! Bar closed hotel closed no one at all around!! We were very peed off to say the least, I needed a coffee to take tablets but nothing and no one to ask! We decided there and then to leave, no bar no atmosphere no one around, we felt completely alone with no one in case of emergency. We packed up and left.

The room was clean but dated. However, the paint was peeling from the wall in the bathroom and the shower was skin burningly hot. Unfortunatley we were unable to locate any on-site parking throughout our stay. The breakfast offer available does not include a cooked breakfast which was disappointing.

This is a charming hotel with a popular restaurant and bar. It seemed very busy during our stay and I believe the hotel was fully booked that night. The staff on arrival were welcoming and friendly, and they kindly explained how to access the building after 11:30pm, which was very helpful. The restaurant also appeared popular with both guests and visitors, creating a lively atmosphere. As expected with such an old building in the centre of town, there is no on-site parking. However, there are several nearby public car parks within easy walking distance, so this wasn’t too inconvenient. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. The large shower was excellent, with plenty of hot water, and it was nice to have good coffee, a kettle, and biscuits provided in the room. Breakfast was included in the stay, although this was the one area that let the experience down slightly. The croissants seemed a little stale and dry, and with no hot breakfast options available, it felt somewhat limited. The breakfast staff were also less engaging than the rest of the team, despite wishing them good morning, only one person responded, and unfortunately it came across rather sarcastically. One final point, which is obviously not the hotel’s fault, was that the guest in the neighbouring room snored extremely loudly throughout the night, which disturbed our sleep several times. Overall, though, this is a clean, welcoming, and well-located hotel with friendly reception staff and comfortable

If you want an old coaching inn then this is your place. Slap bang in the middle of town. I liked the colours of the decor, other half loved it all. Ate in the restaurant and it really was excellent.

Very clean big room at the top of the inn. Calne is pretty and near to Bath.

The hotel suited us for work. Is a bit concerning if you've got a van full of tools no secure parking

Down stairs was pk, staff were really good. But the rooms are very very run down, threadbare carpets and curtains, awful pillows, just very poor and definately not value for money.

Room had fraying carpets and mould growth in bathroom toilet seat was loose but everything else was excellent

Pleasant staff. Clean room. Parking problematic. If lucky space at back of hotel otherwise difficult. Location good

Public areas were good but hotel areas less so, the corridors were a bit dated but my room was very shabby, noisy, above public toilets with hand driers loud and constant, outside was the courtyard area with loud music and people talking loudly. Plus the fumes from cigarettes/vapes coming through the sash single glazed windows. After a long hard day it was not what I wanted or needed. Informed staff member on leaving but they took no details nor said they would inform the manager

Room was awful had to complain and change room. Staff were good

The room was clean but needs updating. Plumbing needs looking into as there was an unpleasant smell in bathroom. Bottled water in room might be nice.

Rooms are very out dated and in serious need of some attention. The first room was horrible and really basic. Carpets were almost thread bare and you could feel and hear the bed springs when you sat in the bed. Asked to move rooms and the receptionist was lovely and moved us into a suite which was slightly better but the bath had horrible stains in it that made it look dirty. We over looked the Main Street and the Town Hall where the clock chimes every 15 mins. Not good if you’re a light sleeper. Continental breakfast wasn’t very nice either. Staff very nice and welcoming but certainly won’t be staying here again

They gave us an early check-in which was great.staff friendly and helpful.

The Hotel was 'tired'. There was thick dust on the light fittings,on the walls, there was no main light on the ceiling so I couldn't see as I have vision problems. the bathroom was falling apart, it was cold and I asked for a disabled shower room, ground floor & although I had an email confirmation, They had no ground floor rooms or lifts & we had a bath in the room. I can't get in baths. We had to carry my stroller upstairs & I had to struggle up them. The staff member was neither happy, helpful or apologetic and hardly spoke. The food was cheaply made but expensive. It was really noisy. The room was big but it had vinyl walls & the decor didn't match. It looked like it hadn't been done up since the 60's. It was nice to see the family but we won't be staying again. The whole place needs an overhaul. I was not happy.
