Room clean and comfortable, but difficult to access - buildings are old and tired.

We have stayed at the Lansdowne Strand before, and like the hotel and its location. The Arkell's beer (a favourite) is well kept. The only disappointment this time was that we arrived back at 10 past 10 in the evening to find the bar closed, even to residents. A shame, as one of the reasons for choosing the hotel was the splendid pint of Arkell's (see above).

Restaurant was quite good. Nice large room.

Insgesamt sehr gepflegte und gut ausgestattete Zimmer. Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer. Leider war im Hinterhof vor unserem Fenster eine riesige Lüftung, vermutlich von der Küche, die alle 20 Minuten für einige Minuten ansprang, was in einem sonoren Brummen mündete. Für Lärmempfindliche daher eventuell weniger geeignet.

Very convenient. Good food in the restaurant. Helpful staff

Single bed was as rock hard and very uncomfortable. Interior of this beautiful building needs complete refurbishment.

the breakfast option are lacking, you expect your good old full English to see ham and bread with the odd side dishes.

Had a great stay and would return there again. Only things we didn't like was the musty smell in the room

Public rooms were very good, the staff seemed a little pre occupied with each other. The bedrooms whilst clean and with good bedding were a little tired especially the bathroom. We still enjoyed our stay and would return. I did feel that it was over priced and breakfast was average.

Very clean and comfortable with good food

On arrival i think the lass was called hannah, service was polite and a quick check in, asked about parking and was shown where it was located, later asked for a refill of milk for the room and hannah also checked if id managed to park and was there anything else needed. She coulsnt have been more helpful

Stay in this hotel on route to Heathrow. I have friends who live here in Calne so it’s convenient to meet up. Manager was very helpful and upgraded my room.

The Landsdowne is a delightful boutique hotel of historic significance that is welcoming and in the heart of town centre. Hannah was informative and helpful - always there to answer questions and make sure service was on point. The dining was superb! We will definitely return when in Calne.

The hotel was lovely and a good location. Staff were friendly and downstairs in the bar area was clean and decor lovely. Negatives was our room 209 Big crack in ceiling, headboard was loose. Bathroom floor has stains on the flooring. Terrible smell from the back of the toilet, stains in the bottom of the toilet. The whole room needs to be refurbished. Poor breakfast not even a pastry. No knives and had to ask for a plate. Not worth what we paid, shame as it is my husband hometown and we were visiting.

Breakfast was a bit confusing with everyone trying to get breakfast at the same time, but having said that the breakfast was very nice. Would definately stay there again.

The location was convenient for us as we were visiting family in Devizes. We felt the standard of the room left a little to be desired so we left a list of what we considered to be defects with the keys.

Nice central location for travelling around to other local towns. Continental Breakfast was a variety & plentiful.

Average breakfast and Expedia had given a discount then added a service charge without informing me

Comfortable room with tall wardrobe for hanging full length dresses. Bathroom lacked shelf space and hooks for dressing gowns or towels. Great shower. Good choice for continental breakfast. Unfortunately no on site parking .

Not a “hotel” but more like a pub with rooms. However the room was great but could do with aircon not just a small fan. Shower had plenty of pressure and bed was very comfortable with good pillows. The smart tv was a plus allowing me to watch Netflix and YouTube. Not a massive fan of continental breakfasts but there’s was ok. Plenty shops, supermarket and takeaways nearby.
