Castro Hotel welcome could not be better. They met us with a taxi at the ferry, greeted us warmly at reception and made us feel very welcome. Hotel is charming and very central.

Nicely tucked off in the narrow streets, with easy and quick access to clothing shops, restaurants and bars. It is a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and provides you with a clean and friendly environment to rest your head.

Très calme et très bien placé. Le personnel au petit soin. Ils font l’effort de parler français.

The Castro Hotel was outstanding in every possible aspect. It was magnificently restored, the amenities were superior and the staff could not do enough to make our stay more than comforting!

I’m constantly amazed and disappointed in European hotels: (1) there are no doors or privacy in the toilet area, (2) in the 21st century can’t you make the toilet flush with a piece of toilet paper (?), (3) the shower has a 1” well that easily overflows, (4) the light switches are non-sensical, random, disorganized and cannot be figured out, (5) the A/C unit blew cold air up BEHIND the drapes (had to choose between a cool room and privacy). Positives: The breakfast area was very nice and the entire staff was great and accommodating.

Everything was perfect and dreamy, the location close to everything, yet quiet and serene, the room and common areas brand new, spotless and luxurious, the service attentive and professional, the ambience romantic and traditional, the breakfast delicious and abundant. Loved this boutique, modern hotel! An easy walk from the ferry, beautifully appointed lobby, room, and restaurant, and comfortable bed/accomodations. The made-to-order breakfast was delicious (included!), and the staff was always pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!
