Just Guest House is just what you need, if you need a clean and simple place to crash. Their sign also says that hourly rentals are possible, subject to availability. This is wonderful to remember if you have a long layover at the airport, and you want to freshen up.
I stayed here two separate times, for a few nights each, in between business and personal trips. The owner is friendly and is sometimes present in the daytime. He is very helpful. The front desk woman is a LOVELY woman with a happy smile at all times. Both were willing to help me with some communication issues that I had, as I am a foreigner who does not speak Tamil.
You can’t miss that the floors and rooms are immaculate here. I am not one who needs a fancy place to stay, but I do want a place to be clean and hygienic. Just Guest House is! I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels in Chennai where I’ve seen pests in the hotel. I didn’t see a single one here.
The location is right on the corner of Joseph St. and Veeramamunivar St, where there is a colorful, ornate temple arch. You can walk out and find just about anything you need- bottled water, food, clothing, groceries, toiletries, coffee, tea, and beyond. It’s approximately a 15 minute, inexpensive ride to the airport, even with Chennai traffic. Despite being close to the airport, you don’t hear many airplanes passing by.
During my 2 trips, I stayed in 2 different rooms. Both had all I needed. The rooms are quiet. The beds are comfortable.

Place was more money than it’s worth, sorry. Our booking said free breakfast but it was an argument with the front staff to get it even though I could show it on my email. The shower bar fell off as soon as I touched it, the shower was hot but came out as a trickle. You get a bar of soap and a towel but no toilet paper. At least there was air conditioning! We didn’t bother asking for breakfast the second morning we left.

Family run hotel with clean and comfortable rooms and very helpful, English speaking staff. Main downside was that the property is accessed via stairs, so not suitable for everyone but there were staff on hand to help you with all the luggage. There were not any tea/Coffee making facility in the room but staff were happy to make these on request. There are some shops and decent restaurant very close by. It can get a bit noisy in the mornings as very close to main road, but this did not bother too much as we were flying early in the morning. Overall, a happy stay.

Room was simple but very clean. Shower was hot, aircon worked well. Staff was very helpful. Traffic noise goes well into the night and you need to bring your own toilet paper but overall very good for the money and convenient for the airport.

Booked 4 rooms for 2 nights and my guests were asked to checkout at 7 am....after spending $20 on a phone call, they were allowed to stay until 12 pm......but not until after a battle of words.....the manager was trying to convince me it was 24 hrs this and that with everything in between! But all was okay at last....

Surprisingly clean and friendly as far as low budget places go. Towels, complimentary soap and water provided. Late night arrival no problem. No breakfast included, but tea stalls, shops and restaurants are just around the corner. Manager was very friendly and helped with onward travel. I'll be bookmarking this place for my next trip.

Yes, I had a lovely little room, nice bathroom, and especially nice people working there. When I left, I forgot a bag of things including candy meant as gifts, a sweater, etc. etc. The staff called my taxi to let me know that I'd forgotten this bag. We had gone too far to turn around, but I hope to stop back on my way through to the airport and pick it up. So very thoughtful! Also, since I would be picked up late in the morning, they suggested I sign out first thing, but still allowed me to use the lobby, snack on treats etc.

Hotel is Clean and good location. We stayed here for couple of hours during transit, but something weird happened, I went to parlor to color my hair. Upon return i washed hair and checked out, the front end person checked the room and said towels had hair color on them, I graciously agreed to pay, 180rs for towels (which I think was excessive), anyways after paying and check out , a big guy came ( assuming the manager of hotel ) and started lashing me out. He was being really rude and obnoxious. I explained to him, I already paid for the towels but he continued to be rude.
The staff was excellent and I feel bad that hotel manager made the final experience after checkout so negative.
