It was an amazing experience in this lovely well maintained Resort in North Bengal. It is well managed and almost every bit of it was perfect over there. Spacious accommodation, well laid cottages, lush green lawns, delicious food and smiling staff.
Overall it was a great experience.

We visited Dooars from Kolkata for two days. Altogether six of us (including one child, and three seniors) had a wonderful stay at Sinclairs Chalsa, at nature's lap, with all modern amenities, and serene backdrop of hills and clouds. All the special meal requests were taken care of by chef Joydeb and his team, and the reception staff was very friendly. Only drawback, the pick-up and drop-off service from IXB airport was less than satisfactory and outrageously expensive. The driver was not willing to come to the terminus (maybe to avoid paying parking fee) and wanted us to walk for a long distance to the car, which we refused, and that made him unhappy. While dropping, he almost made us miss the flight, dropped the luggage on the floor, and one of the bags broke. All this while we paid 8000 Rs up and down for the transport service.

Areas first improvement are:-
1. Inadequate staffing
2. Waiters not attentive or happy
3. Insufficient signs around resort . No area maps at all
4. No taxis available ( outbound) from the resort
5. Bathroom not too clean.
6. Limited dining options
7. Buildings not cost of fresh paint.
Otherwise excellent location. Just needs good management

We had a great experience, everybody was warm, welcoming and helpful. Especially the chef Joydeep and the young lady from the restaurant who trudged all the way to our hotel room to deliver milk for our baby, even late at night, never once losing her charming smile. Would have loved to mention her by name, but forgot to ask her for it.

Good location and gardens. Food was repetitive and boring. Front office desk staff and room service staff not helpful. They were just doing their job and nothing more. No wifi in the rooms. Mobile signal very poor in most of the property. Shower was pathetic. Bedside lamps were for decoration, not for reading.

The experience was, overall, wonderful with the exception that the pre-paid, hotel-arranged driver did not arrive to transport us from the airport to the hotel; and, despite calling all available phone #'s, we could not get through to either the local hotel or corporate headquarters for assistance.
