The most amazing staff from check in to after we left! The hotel beautifully tucked into the city and from inside the quiet peaceful atmosphere you would never know there is a bustling city outside. The rooms were nice and hotel had an onsen (public bath) which was so nice to enjoy after a long day.
The hotel is in a convenient location walkable to the busy areas of Kyoto where you can get food, go shopping and walkable to the Higashiyama district is about a mile away. We were able to have them store our luggage at check out so we would have more time to explore. They also called a taxi for us when needed to take us back to train station which is about 15 min away.
Most importantly when we left someone on our party forgot their cell phone in the taxi cab. We did not have the taxi cab information and called the hotel to help us contact the taxi company. They assisted us and called the taxi cab letting them know. The hotel staff helped us and the taxi cab driver came back to Same spot of drop off and brought us cell phone.
We will definitely stay at this hotel and its other properties again! Thank you to the most amazing staff!!

This hotel is in a great location with very friendly and helpful staff. The highlight for me is their public onsen - so cool! Sparkling clean and fully equpped showers and changing room.
The hotel also has special access to the Jokyoji temple next door. Unfortunately, it was closed the day I ried to visit - next time. Arigato!

The reason I picked this hotel is because it's the only "temple hotel" and will provide special morning-routine experience. However, we were not informed ahead or at the check-in that the temple was closed. My family planned to check out the temple and join the morning-routine experience, and the hotel staff only told us that "oh, the temple was closed this week" when we asked where the temple was. The service and experience is disappointing. If we were told that the temple was not available that week, we may choose other accommodation option instead.

Loved this hotel. Not only conveniently located to shopping and restaurants but very well appointed from the moment you step in. A peaceful, calm and incense infused oasis from the heat and crowds.
The room as well exceeded our expectations, and with a public bath and access to laundry we found our stay quite relaxing.
They were even able to assist with shipping our large suitcase ahead to our next hotel. George was especially helpful as our Japanese language skills were not ideal and he provided lots of local suggestions. We will be staying again and this is a highly recommended hotel in right in the heart of Kyoto’s shopping hub.

Nous avons séjourner 3 nuits dans cet hôtel. Le personnel de l’hôtel est aux petits soins, les chambres sont propres, belles, la décoration est soignée ! L’hôtel est à proximité d’une des avenues principales tout en étant très calme en son sein. Nous recommandons cet hôtel !
