This hotel is in a great location with very friendly and helpful staff. The highlight for me is their public onsen - so cool! Sparkling clean and fully equpped showers and changing room. The hotel also has special access to the Jokyoji temple next door. Unfortunately, it was closed the day I ried to visit - next time. Arigato!

Loved this hotel. Not only conveniently located to shopping and restaurants but very well appointed from the moment you step in. A peaceful, calm and incense infused oasis from the heat and crowds. The room as well exceeded our expectations, and with a public bath and access to laundry we found our stay quite relaxing. They were even able to assist with shipping our large suitcase ahead to our next hotel. George was especially helpful as our Japanese language skills were not ideal and he provided lots of local suggestions. We will be staying again and this is a highly recommended hotel in right in the heart of Kyoto’s shopping hub.

Bear in mind though that the hotel doesn’t have onsite laundry facilities or a gym and the absence of a bar / area to hang out in is a bit of a missed opportunity but there are plenty of bars and independent gyms nearby

Perfect spot in beautiful Kawaramachi district with clean, comfortable rooms and an amazing public bath. Friendly, helpful staff and walking distance to excellent shopping, restaurants, and bars. Great public transport connections too. Loved our stay and can’t wait to return!
