Literally on the beach, in the area of boutique hotels which are usually smaller and higher value in terms of service and customers. The hotel is a little gem hosted in a luxuriant area. The room is huge with a view on the sea with strong wifi and a safe, no AC but you don t need one, the night breeze cools the room pretty well. The stafd is absolutely awesome, the breakfast was also good! Highly recommended

We couldn’t be happier with our stay! I booked this because the bungalow had a balcony with unobstructed views of the beach/ocean… When we arrived they wanted to move us because the property beside them was having an event… Listen,Tulum is known for its EDM music scene and nightlife so I can’t complain. We asked to see both rooms and they were more than willing! We chose the room they had wanted to move us to and it was perfect! Little of an obstructed view but at the same time it really was simply amazing and we decided to book an extra night before we decided on dinner that night! Let’s talk food… Tamarindo/Pasha were great although they didn’t look like much on the walk by. Tamarindo had a slightly better breakfast offering than the new cafe on the beach at the hotel but only slightly. Plenty of Michelin rated restaurants within walking distance and priced similar to/slightly less than “fine” dining in the US. The staff was amazing! They were always available but at the same time they weren’t over your shoulder! My only “dig” on this place is that it could use a little upkeep. It is by no means falling apart or “gross” but some of the thatch roofs had tarps to prevent leaks that really just should be repaired/replaced… Boho chic outdoor furniture on pool deck that should just be thrown out… Given the jungle setting the tarps were almost unnoticeable but I’m that guy! We will… not would, stay here next time we are in Tulum and it was a bargain at their current rates!

Amazing place to stay. Nature preserve on premises is beautiful. Breakfast and restaurant where served was perfect. Stayed in multiple huts/casas. All were well done. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Overall unique experience!

We loved our stay at Piedra Escondida! The hotel is a peaceful, secluded gem with beautiful ocean views. The management and staff of the hotel and restaurant were always helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Nayeli and and Juanita for helping to make our trip such a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

The view from the room was beautiful. The room was clean and adequately equipped with all we needed. Breakfast by the ocean was delicious and staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful and water was warm. It was quaint, more quiet, and sustainable compared to many of the larger resorts nearby. Resident chickens provided eggs for our breakfast!

The front desk (Eric) and restaurant (Richard) staff were wonderful. Included breakfast was very tasty, served right on the beach. Our room, though not luxury, was very large and comfortable in a rustic way. There was a water outage one evening, but it was fixed within an hour. Staying within view and sound of the ocean was a first for us and we enjoyed it very much. The property was very lush, different from most of the other hotels on the strip.

Perfekter Ort um in Tulum etwas weg vom trubel zu kommen. Richtig super zum entspannen und es wirkte sehr familär. Vor allem der Frühstücksplatz unter den Palmen am Meer ist ein Traum und wir haben kein vergleichbares Hotel in Tulum gesehen, bei dem es so etwas gibt. Auch der Strand ist mega!
Im Zimmer war es leider etwas kalt in der Nacht, ansonsten aber sehr gemütlich und die Häuser sind super in die Natur eingefügt. Auch das Strandservice mit Getränken und Speisen unter Tags war super. Am Abend hätten wir uns eine Bar im Hotel gewünscht um noch ein Getränk zu trinken. Wichtig: Neben dem Hotel ist ein Beach Club. Dort kann es passieren, dass bis Mitternacht bei lauter Musik gefeiert wird.
Die Taxis in Tulum sind abzocke, aber da kann die Unterkunft nichts dafür. Auch vor dem Hotel in der Straße ist es nicht unbedingt angenehm unterwegs zu sein, da sehr viel Verkehr ist und es nach Abgasen stinkt. Generell muss man in Tulum mit höheren Preisen rechnen.
