We've just returned from a fantastic trip to Marrakech, thanks in no small part to the staff at this riad. My friend stayed here a few months ago and recommended it, and I'm so glad he did. It's right in the Medina, and about a two minute walk from the main square (this can be 10-15 minutes if it's busy: think people, buggies, mopeds, carts, kids, all jostling through, to eat, to shop. Great fun). I'd recommend arranging ahead of time for the riad to collect you from the airport. We found our bearings once there but I think it'd have been pretty overwhelming to try on that first day with luggage. The riad itself is beautiful, peaceful and cool, though rooms have climate control so you can adjust the temperature. I did blast a bit of heat in the evening as it was still quite cool. We stayed in two rooms as they 'upgraded' us for four nights while a bigger room was empty. Other reviews have said the mattresses are hard. I'd say firm, rather than hard. Perfectly comfortable, in both rooms (Dana and Giana). Dana was much smaller but beautiful. Giana was much more comfortable as it was more spacious, but no better quality as both were wonderful. My other half thought Giana was noisier as closer to the thoroughfare but that was nothing earplugs didn't fix. You'll hear the call to prayer too but again, you don't come to Marrakech for peace and quiet. Both rooms had international television channels though the reception was hit and miss. Excellent from start to the end. Stayed 8 people in the Deluxe Villa (green one with jacuzzi). Tired after the trip we had booked dinner in the riad. It was fine, and the service was good. Maybe not worth the price but super nice when you are tired after a long trip. Really liked this and would stay again.
