This was a great hotel in a quieter area of Amsterdam, but within walking distance of the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, and Vondelpark. If we wanted to go further, the bus system was easy to use and the stop was close enough to walk to. A grocery store a few blocks away and a few restaurants made the location even more perfect for our family. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful during our stay and the room was comfortable for my family of five.

They were extremely kind to us. Due to an external situation, we arrived earlier than planned, and they helped us find a solution so we could get a room right away and rest. The room and amenities were also very clean and comfortable.

Menginap di The Alfred di Amsterdam, Belanda, menyenangkan. Lokasi dekat dengan Tram Stop, toko makanan salad dan roti. Hotel lokasi bagus, bersih, kamarnya bagus tetapi cuma 1 saja yang harus diperhatikan penghangat ruangan hanya hidup 20 menit, terus mati lagi. Minta dibetulkan dan hidup, mati lagi (tolong diperbaiki). Kebayang kan kami hidup di Pulau Bali yang suhu luar rata rata 27 derajat celcius pindah ke suhu 12 derajat. Tapi hotel ini bagus lah....

When you arrived at the hotel, you would thought, this could be a great deal. The building from outside looks promising but read along...
Pictures of the room were deceiving. It is a lot smaller than in the picture. Bed needs to be changed as it has sunken in. Walls looked old. Carpet colour is old dark grey colour and looks like it could use another round of vacuuming. Coffee machine was broken. Couldn’t even get help from the front desk from my room because the phone is (guess what) also broken. I had to walked down in pjs for help but front desk was reluctant to help because she was alone at the desk. She said she would come but never did. The only downside of that ordeal was I could get free coffee at the breakfast area but then of course you had to do it yourself.
And one good thing-their toilet/shower room looks good. I just wished they apply the same design in their rooms too. Location is awesome but in amsterdam you could get to anywhere so not necessary to be so close to everything. The hotel is near the museums area. You still need to take a 15 minutes tram ride to the damrak.

I got a room with no window. But it's good place to rest at night. Easy access to tram 2 if you want to go to the city center
