Better late than never, I’ve been meaning to write this for almost a year, and after returning for a second stay this weekend, I finally have the full picture.
My first visit had a rocky start. I’d booked a mid-range room, and with a 4am arrival, I paid for the previous night just to skip the wait, worth it for peace of mind. The lobby and front desk staff immediately impressed me; warm and welcoming no matter the hour.
My room was in an older wing and showed its age: dusty surfaces, unreliable outlets, worn linens, a broken TV, and an odd smell. After 40 minutes, I headed back downstairs.
Here’s where it turns. The front desk offered me a suite upgrade for roughly $100 total for my entire stay — I handed over my card without hesitation. The difference was night and day. My new room on the 12th floor was spotless, modern, and stocked with every amenity I could want. It turned the whole trip around.
Second stay this weekend? I booked the better room from the start and it delivered again.
The takeaway: spend a little extra at this property, it’s absolutely worth it, and the staff will genuinely take care of you.

Long wait to check in. Aircon in room inefficient. Fridge unplugged. Power point at wall in dangerous state. Safe not working. New one provided but not secured. Only two clothes hangers in wardrobe. Limited vegetarian choice on breakfast menu. Kitchen did produce pancakes and fried eggs on separate occasions on request.
