The hotel gave us a very cozy and spacious room with modern interior on the top attaic. The receptionist was very hospitable who even offered to carry the heavy luggage for us. Even though they didn't include a parking lot, it was still quite easy to find a place to park because there were parking spaces along the road. What's more, the breakfast was just fantastic. Except for the mini buffet, they also offered main dish for ordering. We had omelette and fruit waffle with maple sauce, which was absolutely delicious! It is a very good hotel and I'll definitely recommend my friends to stay there!

Old tired and a B&B

Used to be better. We have stayed in the Belhaven before (over 20 years ago the first time) and loved it. I have also recommended it many times to visitors to Glasgow. So, it saddens me to say that this visit wasn't so great and they really need to do some work if they intend to be around in another 10 or 20 years. When we arrived, we got upgraded from a standard double to the suite. Sounds great. And getting up there it's an beautiful big room and seems very nice at first look. But further time spent revealed that it needs work and repair. Just a few of the issues: Huge room but little furniture. No wardrobe at all, just a rail (which feels more like an Ibis than a decent hotel suite). Massive great double bath - jacuzzi. I thought "great" and proceeded to fill it, which was fine, but then turns the jacuzzi jets on and it started to fill with particles and a few flakes of mould, so clearly the pipework has not been cleaned for quite some time (no point having a jacuzzi without maintenance!). The sink was chipped and the plug no longer went down. Best throw away and buy a new one. Should be less than £300 at a plumber's merchant and an hour of labour! Wiring for the lights above the paintings was wrong - you needed to switch both the switch by the door and the one by the bed. This is not how to wire a two-way switch! Half an hour of an electrician's time would sort it. They have to spend some real money to get this room back up to its potential!

Although the hotel is a little tired, it’s great value and an ideal location for work meetings

Liked the reuse of an old ornate home as a B and B. Free parking short walk away, close to shopping restaurants, botanic gardens. Very walkanle

The staff was amazing! Very kind and helpful above and beyond. Place was cleanish, bedding was clean and bathroom clean. The big issue is, we were in a basement room so might be just our location, but the carpets smelled awful. Very moldy smell, which I’m allergic to, so I felt terrible every morning. Place was very cold but damp, our towels never did dry, bedding was damp. Even the clothes in our suitcases came home damp and smelly. The building has character so with some dehumidifiers and harder flooring, it has potential to be a great place. Public transportation right outside, tons of great restaurants close by and botanic garden across the street for a nice walk.

Pleasant and quiet location although the 3hr max parking is a pain. It would be ideal if the Bellhaven offered parking permits during the stay. The family room is huge and definitely worth it with two young children. Comfortable beds and great shower pressure. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. For the price I would definitely stay again.

Character, great location

Easy walking distance to the gardens, shopping, and food. The window opened and we had a view out the back over a tree.

Very nice hotel. Good breakfast if you should decide to eat. The location is close to an old part of town with many restaurants. Rooms are nice and large.

This was a very average stay, which isn't a bad thing. For the first 3 days, our toilet was not working. They had to give us a key to a private bathroom downstairs. It was frustrating because we had 3 people in our party who needed to take turns using the bathroom so it was inconvenient to have to use a toilet not in our room. You had to move the handle like 10 times before you got a flush. Then suddenly by day 3, it was ACTUALLY fixed and we had to give the other bathroom key back. We were only offered a free drink at the bar as compensation (which we didn't use anyway). Other than the toilet fiasco, it's an okay stay! Bathroom was spacious, great water pressure and it gets hot! Even the room was spacious for three people. Tip: leave the bathroom fan on because for some reason it keeps the room cool. There is NO AC so the fan in the bathroom helped. Beds were okay, pillows offer no support so maybe bring your own to use. Had an old fashioned feel so I didn't mind the old fashioned smell lol. Staff is very nice and kind and attentive to any request. My old gripe is the second half of the stay, they stopped giving us fresh towels so I had to ask for fresh towels twice. They also didn't make up the bed our last two days or give us toilet paper. I recommend this place if you JUST need a place to sleep and eat breakfast. Great location and easily walkable to the subway. VERY average stay but worth it if you can tough it out.

Great location. Tired facility. Smallest double bed my wife and I have maybe ever shared. Staff helpful and friendly. Parking locally expensive. Fine for a night.

We loved everything about our stay! The staff were so helpful, the breakfast was delicious and so special! Our room was quite comfortable with a great view!

Nice, old building. Quiet area, but less than 10 min walk to a main street. Shower did not work, could only take bath.

Hotel rooms are beautiful and breakfast was nice

We loved it, except the double bed was barely wide enough to qualify. It was more like an extra wide single.

The staff at the Belhaven were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were great. Very nice neighborhood, walking to shopping and dining. Our room was on the lower level and needed a refresh. It was not dirty at all. Just didn’t look like the picture and I realize we needed more room as a family of 4. Beds were ok. Again staff and location were great we just didn’t like being in the basement

Room fairly basic although clean. On top flloor and no lift, which wasnt mentioned on web site, I dont recall. Site states parking available, which is true but it is on street and payable by ring go parking app. They did not say that during active hours, 8 until 6, maximum stay is 3 hours. This could be a problem if your visit is for, say a wedding, as was ours. We felt that £471 for 3 nights without breakfast was a bit excessive for this hotel.

Very comfortable stay for a group wanting to explore the west end. Very good services
