Hotel Bohinj

The surrounding area is very beautiful and the hotel looks very nice inside and outside. Bohinj is a lot nicer than Bled. Our room was a decent size. However, it was let down by a lack of practicality. E.g, there’s insufficient wardrobe and drawer space for two guests. There’s nowhere to open and store your luggage. In the bathroom, there aren’t any shelves or places to put your toiletries and no hooks to hang towels. They don’t have proper air conditioning, so I expect it gets extremely hot in the room during the height of summer. We used the spa facilities once during our stay and they are nice and clean. Unfortunately, the pool is tiny, so no swimming. The pool area is also very small with a lack of amenities, shade or pool service. We didn’t use the rest of the spa, as it was too hot down there and felt packed with just 6-8 people around. Breakfast was ok, buffet style and coffee from an automatic machine. They have a proper espresso machine, but you can’t have coffee from it with breakfast. The egg station was the best part of breakfast. We didn’t bother eating at the restaurant for dinner, as it’s expensive compared to other restaurants around the hotel and lacks atmosphere. The bar is good though, and you can drink outside in the garden on a nice day. They also sell nice cakes. This is a good hotel as a base for activities in the area and I would stay again, assuming the price remains reasonable.

We were very surprised as I changed our whole Slovenia itinerary to be able to stay here based on the positive reviews. The staff here are extremely unwelcoming. We were very caught off guard with how poor the hospitality was. Lacking in even basic communication skills. We were given almost no information about the hotel or surrounding area upon check in. The hotel is beautiful and perfect location to enjoy the lake. It was just very disheartening to arrive so excited and basically be handed the key and pointed towards the room. We had no clue about amenities offered by the hotel or what was recommended for food, activities, etc. Staff were very cold and rude when asked about these things. We would not recommend to stay here unless you’ll be out of the hotel for the entirety of the day. We would not stay here if we returned back to Bohinj.

We had a wonderful week the breakfasts were incredible the hiking from the door was really easy and beautiful. The restaurant is great. The whirlpool steam room and sauna are lovely after a good hike. Know that the sauna and steam room are no swimsuits and coed but they did give you a towel and everyone uses it.

Fantastic property in every way! The location was excellent in the heart of Lake Bohinj territory (easy day trip to Bled from there) with so much beauty and things to explore within walking/biking distance. The hotel itself was impeccable...from the friendly and helpful wait staff, gorgeously furnished rooms, fantastic restaurant and bar with wonderful food and desserts, a great spa with excellent services to choose from, and very thoughtful and eco conscious design. I LOVED my stay there and would return over and over again!

This was a beautiful hotel, we had a room with a balcony, with a view of the mountains, it was so relaxing. The breakfast was amazing, so much variety and everything was so tasty.

One of the nicest hotel experiences I have ever had. The location is stunning, the hotel is equally gorgeous. The room was wonderful - very comfortable bed, spacious and excellent shower. The spa / welllness area was lovely. The breakfast and dinner were delicious - locally sourced delicacies and a great menu. But the staff were truly outstanding. Very welcoming and friendly and gave excellent advice on places to visit, hiking routes and things to eat.

The room are clean and spacious! Breakfast spread are great as well. The staffs are courteous. I love how tranquil the hotel is.

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful clean hotel. The view from the room was beautiful. Staff was nice. We had a nice dinner at the hotel, breakfast was delicious as well.

Stylish Hotel with Friendly Service, but Room and Atmosphere Fell Short We arrived early and were warmly welcomed, with the staff kindly storing our bags so we could enjoy the lovely spa before check-in. The hotel itself is striking—super modern with clean alpine lines and whimsical design touches that add charm. Unfortunately, the room we were allocated was almost below ground level, with a steep grassy bank rising from the terrace that completely obscured the view. Despite having booked five months in advance, we were told the hotel was fully booked and no alternative room was available. While the overall aesthetic is appealing, the communal spaces lacked comfort. There’s no inviting lounge area apart from the busy lobby, and the bar—though functional—has a cafeteria-like feel. With a bit of imagination, the fireplace could anchor a much cozier setting. The bar also closed abruptly at 10pm, leaving me mid-nightcap in sudden darkness. On the bright side, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and we did enjoy our brief stay. With a few tweaks to layout and atmosphere, this hotel could truly shine.

Great hotel, lovely position near Lake Bohinj. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Very clean

Words cant describe this place. The location, the cosy style, combination of US nationalparks, Austria, Switserland, everything was so nice. The hotel was living up to all our wishes, needs and dreams.

The hotel presents itself as 4★, but in reality the standards of that category are not met. During a three-night stay, the room was not cleaned once, beds had poor quality mattresses and pillows, and the restaurant experience was disappointing: limited menu, small portions, wrongly declared meals (for “pork ribs” - 25€, you get 2 tiny pieces of beacon and a lot of cabbage), very high prices for meals, drinks or coffee, and desserts that were not freshly prepared. Wine by the glass is served as only 0.1 L, (measured by “experienced” eye of the waiter) which looks odd in a standard glass and usually is less then stated. Most surprisingly, the hotel hosts weddings and on those evenings residents cannot use the restaurant or are restricted to dine only until 6 p.m. Even on regular days, dinner seating is limited and requires advance reservation, despite being a hotel guest. The architecture may look appealing at first sight (concrete structure with wooden details, artistic motives in hallways), but behind the minimalist charm lies a lack of essential comfort and service that distinguishes a true 4★ hotel. Overall, the price–quality ratio is very poor and does not justify the declared 4★ rating.

A striking modern hotel with high-end finishes and a great location within steps of the lake. Our room was large and comfortable. We arrived about midday in the pouring rain and unfortunately our room wasn't ready so we had to hang around as there wasn't much else to do. We did eat lunch in the hotel restaurant which was very good. We also had dinner one night in the hotel but were less impressed as we felt a few of the dishes weren't as described on the menu (different ingredients and cooking methods etc). Breakfast choice was very good. Location is good - very close to the lake but the area doesn't have a huge amount to offer in terms of bars/restaurants if you don't want to drive. But for a few nights stay it was fine. Negatives - on the first night the fire alarms went off repeatedly for about an hour around 1am. I went down to reception and there didn't seem to be any staff on site - just what seemed to be guests trying to figure out the alarm system?! Strange. And in the morning there was no apology issued etc. Also we travelled with a 7y/o (a lot of families around) and the hotel is not geared for kids - not allowed in the pool, no kids menu in the restaurant etc. Finally, the heating was off in the hotel and we didn't have great weather to dry stuff on the balcony, which meant no way of drying clothes, swimmers, even bath towels which was a bit annoying.

An excellent hotel experience with a wonderful view of Lake Bohinj.

Beautiful hotel in idilic location. Staff really attentive. We had problems with the shower in our room which didn’t get resolved despite us asking. Good breakfast selection although evening meal was hit and miss.
