Hotel Derby is a very cosy and homely place to stay in interlaken. Good location and within quiet residential area. You could hear birds singing in the morning .I have been traveled more than 10 european countries and Hotel Derby is the best hotel I like most.

Host is rude, not cooperative, and being late for check in time even we have previously called and confirmed the time of check in.
Breakfast is only available from 7:30am, and it is obviously a cost saving strategy of the host. Who will start your day in interlaken (step to Jungfrau) at 7:30am so late? All other hotels starts breakfast at 6 or 630am.
Even we ask for hot water (they do have that in the common room), the host told us: ONLY IN BREAKFAST TIME U CAN GET HOT WATER (this is the exact words he spoke to me, in a rude attitude).
Given that the price of this hotel (>HK$1000) and compared to the nearby choices, I believe you can definitely get a better choice with a lower cost and enjoy a better experience in Switzerland.

We arrive a bit eariler than the check in time but staff is available only after the check in time 13:00.
Friendly staff, clean room, but the hotel is a bit far from Interlaken Ost. No cooking and no clothes washing is allowed in the hotel.
