Hotel La Jolla Curio Collection by Hilton

The experience was terrible, with tons of random extra fees, including a mandatory destination fee of $30 per day. ( A nightly resort fee of $33.84 has already been charged. ) During check-out, I was just a bit confused and asked the front desk why this fee was charged since it wasn’t mentioned during check-in or listed on the Expedia invoice. The African-American woman at the front desk was incredibly impatient and had a terrible attitude, making me feel like she was ready to hit me if someone hadn’t stopped her. If you have such a bad temper, why are you working in customer service? Why not just go somewhere you can act like a boss? Her communication skills were awful; she couldn’t explain properly and just kept repeating one sentence: “I’m just an employee, I don’t know.” If you don’t know, then find out—that’s your job! Another customer checking out managed to explain it to me more clearly than she did. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The room only provided two bottles of water per day, and asking for even one extra bottle incurred a charge. The front desk staff just directed me to buy the $8 bottled water in the room. There were no slippers provided either. It’s clear this hotel is promoted heavily on Expedia through paid ads. Absolute garbage hotel.

Wonderful stay. Staff were very accommodating. The location is perfect and it's only a small walk to the beach.

Loved the property. So beautiful. Did not like being obligated to spend 30 dollars a day for food at the property. Other than that it was the best!! I will not return because of the 30 dollar a day mandatory fee for food.

Wonderful staff and a cute place to stay.

We took a family vacation, La Jolla is a favorite. This property had beautiful views from the 9th floor, very convenient to walk to grab coffee or food, even to the beach if you’re not carrying too much stuff with you. Drinks and food were good from the restaurant! Housekeeping came by daily to tidy up. We loved it and will be back again.

Staff were wonderful. The room was a bit tired, the privacy screen on the shower has been handled and showed very obvious wear and tear. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the breakfast I ordered was fantastic - very fresh ingredients and presentation was lovely even for takeout.

Hotel vecchiotto, scomodo per il centro della Jolla. Non servizio di navetta. Cibo orribile a colazione ( pochi piatti costosi ala carta) dopo che avevo acquistato la colazione inclusa alla reception mi hanno detto che avevo solo un bonus di 50 $ per camera per che non avevano il buffet ma solo il ristorante alla carta. Cameriera ( Laila) scortesissima non ha voluto spiegare nulla , non ci ha portato neanche l’acqua naturale ( abbiamo dovuto chiederla a fine colazione) e ha preteso la mancia !!! Parcheggio 42 $ a notte dichiarato però hanno aggiunto 30$ di tassa occupazione suolo più altre tasse locali!!! NON È CERTO UN HOTEL INNCUI TORNARE e non mi sembra certo un Hilton 4 stelle!

We stayed at this hotel and it was amazing, we got king suite, very clean and comfortable, area is amazing and super safe, 10/10, Btw restaurant is little expensive but overall good hotel, I recommend it to all.

Great place friendly staff

Interesting take on a boutique hotel, which was completely redone. Penthouse restaurant is excellent but expensive. The views from the restaurant are amazing. The pool area seem nice, but it was pretty cold and foggy most of the day so it was not used.

Hotel is older and located on a noisy intersection. Staff was nice and room was clean with a decent view. Pool was average. Bikes were available. It is walking distance to beach & restaurants. Not sure it’s the best value for the money.

Nice room, good view. Silly policy with the $30 credit everyday for the room to spend - it was confusing how you could use the credit and if it could be rolled over to another day or not. No complimentary coffee in the lobby - had to go upstairs to order coffee to go, very inconvenient because one had to find a waiter to get the coffee, which by the way was $11 for two cups of drip coffee. Pool area just ok - no hot tub. The beach was great - but it is 5 blocks away.

When I reached there I was informed that room is not available as there is some drainage issue. And I was given a room in Lodge hotel. I am still waiting for the compensation from the hotel.

The bed was ok i guess because i kept getting up all though the night, because the room was so hot! We got a room with great views but the noise above us was not worth it. Our room was above the dinning room. We ordered food ans never got to our room. We got locked out our room because the door needed to be charged, that took 20 min and the food that i bought got cold and no i can't heat it up because they're no microwave in the room.

One elevator working during my week visit. Longest wait was 18mins for the elevator. Received a daily credit that I couldnt use t But was charge daily. Small pool area. Outside bar wasn't open. Stayed on 10th floor. Restaurant on 11th floor. I can hear people talking and chairs moving in my room from the restaurant. Very disappointed with stay. Hilton needs to do better.

I booked this room 3 weeks in advance and I did not get the 2 Queens as requested. They could not accommodate and my husband needs to sleep alone due to cancer. It was a awful night for him and me!
