I had very high hopes for this hotel.
I initially checked in to room 1612— the room was filthy and run down. Hairs were stuck to the walls, old papers from who knows how long ago in plain view, weird brown substance on the side of the bed frame, dysfunctional thermostat, dysfunctional mirror lights and bathroom lights, a super outdated TV, and scratched and run down room furniture.
In person staff at the main desk were very helpful in getting me a new room (2422) and helping with the overall check-in process when I had my guest checking in when I’d be absent from the room. The people who answer the phone, aren’t the most helpful, I wish I could remember the name of the woman I’d spoken to. Security staff was great and I was glad to be able to store my luggage with them until I returned post check out. The YoBot was giving everyone issues.
Rooms are ridiculously hot. 72 degrees as a default is highly uncomfortable to be in when it’s a heatwave outside, not to mention the thermostat only going to 68 degrees. At times it felt hotter in the room than outside. We had to resort to opening the tiny panel window to let some heat out of the room.
The bed felt worse than laying on concrete. I stayed here for four nights for a convention (ANYC) which drain your energy a ton, and needless to say my body was ridiculously sore by the time I checked out.
The ice machine on our floor (24) was hardly in service. The lights over the bed were about ready to fall out of their sockets.
