Clean room

Bar closed at 22:00 had to pop out to a Tesco express for a drink Breakfast was slow serving had to wait 30 minutes for our cooked breakfast 2 water bottles left in the room but you had to pay £2.50 if you drank it absolutely shocking

Loved the room—spacious, quiet and with fantastic views. The beds were huge and exceptionally comfy. The only niggles were unreliable Wi-Fi and service that could have been friendlier and more proactive. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

Very friendly staff, unfortunately there was a stain on the bed sheets which were changed when requested, walking to the room the corridor smelt of cigarette smoke. The room wasn’t 100% accurate to the photos online.

lovely hotel, great price, definitely include breakfast as the food is fantastic and the view over the racecourse is amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Car parking is limited so get there early. Public car parking close by if preferred or needed.

Great location for the racecourse as it’s within stumbling distance. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location. Comfortable room. Great shower. Balcony a plus, nicer than a jammed window for fresh air. Breakfast was really good. Shortage of plugs in the bedroom would be my only criticism.

Ideal stay as next to the racecourse, limited parking. Staff on reception were great but the bistro was understaffed for a race date. Just little things were disappointing e.g. water in room chargeable eventhough the room cost was hefty.

Stayed on Chester horse race day so very busy in Chester but quiet in hotel. Room was excellent. Breakfast very good overall. Did not dine in hotel.

Lovely hotel, close to the racecourse, close to the shops, easy to visit beautiful city, first time visitor, lovely views from top floor, air con was perfect, staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside was no tourist information in the room, or any information about the hotel.

We recently stayed at the Abode, expecting a luxury stay, as that seems to be its reputation. We paid extra for a deluxe room, which was larger and had a great view of the racecourse. But we felt the room was very basic. There weren’t any plug sockets by the bed, only the other side of the room by the desk. The bathroom lights would flicker on and off occasionally. The antislip mat in the bath was covered in black mould. The general fixtures and fittings needed some attention too. The shower rail on the bath screen was loose, the toilet roll holder was loose. Generally it felt like everything needed a refresh. The bed was very comfortable, though and the room was pretty clean.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. An easy walk from the city centre and the city walls were accessible from across the road. Th hotel was quiet and had friendly reception staff. Room was a standard and was very comfortable for my stay

Always lovely and polite staff,location to the center and also the races is perfect.The only downside to this hotel is the charges for parking,at £20 per night i think this is to much,even if you have a blue badge you still have to pay the fee.
