We stayed for two nights at the Nuovo Albergo Centro and were very pleased to be guests there. The hotel is quite basic, but everything that it does promise it delivers well. The rooms are basic, but well cared for and very clean. The baths are shared, but (again) are clean and tidy. (There was a sink in our room so we only had to use the shared bathrooms to bathe and for the toilet.) The free breakfast is basic, but just fine. The staff is friendly and English-speaking. The location of the hotel is fantastic, within reasonable walking distance of all of the attractions in central Trieste (and the best gelato that we've ever had - I can't name the gelateria in this review, but if you search Trieste + Gelato you'll find it.) In short, if you come to this place with the right expectations, you'll likely be delighted.

Fabulous location. 10 mins from station and very close to the central piazza, canal and seafront. Wonderful breakfast. Staff very helpful and communication good before arrival. Room clean with comfortable bed.

Our stay at The Nuovo Albergo was great... the room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable, clean crisp sheets, comfortable beds, and a nice bathroom. The staff was fantastic and helpful, (especially Laura, thank you for all), and the complimentary breakfast is fresh and varied. The hotel is perfectly located in the old city for walking and visiting. The street entrance however, does not do it justice as it is quite dark and could use some improvement.

This hotel was basic but our room had a private bathroom and Air conditioning. 6 stairs to the elevator so not completely accessible however they did have a wheelchair lift. Area around the hotel was safe feeling and close to shopping and restaurants. Great stopover hotel before or after a cruise.

Det var et rigtigt dejligt hotel midt i byen. Dejlige rene værelser med aircondition, virkelig venlig og servicemindet personal. Fin morgenmad og centralt beliggende.

Sjarmerende hotell med knøttliten frokostsal. Ingen brannalarm i fellesarealer og hotellrom i etasjen vi bodde i trekker ned.

Friendly staff

When walking in the front door the condition of the entrance looked like it was derelict, dirty and the wooden banister had chunks out. We had to book a breakfast time as the room was so small. You had to turn sideways to get into the bathroom and sink did not hold water. The only plus was it was clean and we were only there for 15 hours. Location was good.

The staff were so kind and even packed me a breakfast to go since I had an early train. The hotel is basic, but had everything you could need!
