Great central location. Comfortable bed and linen immaculate. En-suite and windows need a bit of tlc but looking forward to my next stay 👍

The property is dated, and the facilities in the room are not of a great standard. I was in a top floor room on a very hot day, no air con, no fan and the window was prevented form owning more than an inch (I understand as there was a large drop on the other side). But the room should not be bookable when temperatures rise. A staff member found a fan but made me feel like an annoyance for asking for a fan or the availability of an alternative room. A dated hotel with a dated approach to customer service.

Absolutely excellent value and location, staff were great. Only issue I had was not having a shower in the morning due to a boiler problem however I was reimbursed 25% for my stay and the boiler was also fixed quite quickly so not a major problem.

A welcoming reception on arrival. Everything explained well. Room was clean and tidy...lots of space, and ample enough room for storage! Breakfast was very relaxing, and the food was excellent ...specially the sausages 🤤😋. A good variety of cooked and continental food. And a nice cup of tea ☕ 😀 Swimming pool was lovely....it was very warm, but a good size for a cooling dip. The changing room is very small, with just 1 shower, but manageable!. Lovely bar staff in the evening, and very informative on places of interest and things to do. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely come back to this hotel....close to cafes and pubs and historic places. Right in the centre, and a very short walk from train station. Thank you for a great stay 😄

The hotels location is perfect, right in the centre of town. Staff are brilliant, professional and friendly. Didn't use the pool as was too hot in there, but another time maybe. They were having problems with the boiler but well handled by reception. Oh I can't forget the Cheese Souffle!!! It was amazing!!

We found the staff rather unhelpful. When we arrived mid afternoon on a Saturday we were greeted by a receptionist who told us the car park was full, but didnt offer any information regarding alternative options until I asked even then the information was vague & unhelpful. Later that night on returning to the hotel we realised there was no hot water in our bathroom - an issue affecting the whole hotel but no proactive communication from the hotel or apologies offered until we raised the matter. Customers were not treated fairly with some being offered partial refunds and others not. On the plus side the breakfast service is good. This is not a hotel I would choose to stay at again, nor would I recommend it.

Stayed many times before as love a historic hotel that has a ghost ! Nice staff who are LGBT and non binary friendly and secure luggage storage with comfortable rooms .

Always a nice place to stay when visiting Carlisle. The hotel is really well cleaned and maintained and the staff are always really friendly and helpful.

Comfortable bed. Great breakfast choice and quality. Friendly staff. Pool changing area basic and cramped. Dressing gowns not available as advertised.

Happy to stop at the Crown and Mitre again however the hotel could do with some TLC especially the pool, and changing rooms. Staff was very friendly although I had to wait for my room to be ready. My room, while bed was very comfy, and had I decent night sleep. The bathroom was dated. Also I like that added security when a hotel rooms have safes, which it sadly didn't. 2 huge pluses The location of the hotel Breakfast was delicious.

A brilliant hotel. Staff first class and everything excellent. Great value for money as well.

An average hotel with uninterested staff.

The property was very old and tired. Parking was an issue and wasted a lot of our time. The bathroom facilities definitely need modernising.
