The location is great and nearby the ferry pier. But the hotel is not in good maintenance at room, the toilet ceiling have a lot of dirty water marks, it looked disgusting. I booked a lakeview room that cost £250 a night, but not worth it, the room is really dilapidated, even they don't have a refrigerator at room, I needed to keep my birthday cake in their restaurant. The room price wss including the breakfast but it was lack of choice, they serve breakfast until 10:30 am, when I ordered scrambling egg with smoked salmon toast, they said no more but I saw other customers have it, I thought smoked salmon and egg are very common foods in a hotel restaurant, I wondered why they can tell me no more stocks. I just can say this hotel not worth for money, they are overpriced. Staffs are not really friendly.

The hotel is well located to visit Windermere attractions and our room had excellent lake views. The majority of the staff were very helpful and excellent at their jobs however there were the odd one or two who were a bit abrupt. The spa pool and steam room was excellent, everything worked and was very clean however the changing rooms could be upgraded, the addition of swim suit spinners and body lotion would be good especially as there was no place to dry the swimming kit in the room. Our room was tired, one of the window sashes was broken so it would barely open to let in fresh air. There was no in room safe, the bed was small and pillows hard. The carpet needed a good clean and the paint work touching up. There was no grab handle in the bath and as the shower was over the bath not a walk in this was quite difficult so we used the spa walk in sowers.

Our hotel room was a bit dated and was far too hot with no way of cooling it down. There was also no fridge. The food was fine, although there were a lot of prepacked foods used (such as pancakes at breakfast, bean burger at dinner). We also ordered packed lunches for our hike and they were quite basic for the £17.50 they cost and they were also quite squashed when they were given to us (the banana was a bit mouldy too as well as being very bruised). The pool was amazing and we all loved it and although we didn't use the spa it looked lovely too. The changing rooms were far too hot though which made getting dressed very uncomfortable. The staff were all lovely, especially at reception, really chatty and friendly. With a few little improvements I feel this could be a fantastic hotel.

Everything about the Hotel was great,staff v helpful in every way,Our room overlooking the Lake,the Spa was better than expected but at Breakfast my Haddock with poached egg was rather small....on a good note to end I would certainly come again.

This is such a stunning hotel. It’s our 3rd time staying and we can’t wait to come back. We’re both vegan and I’m GF and the food is fantastic. They also have noseco which was fab. We absolutely love the spa so the facilities really do give it that extra edge.

What a gem, I have never been to the Lake District before and my jaw dropped the second you pull into the car park. I had made a note that we were celebrating a few special occasions and were given an upgrade I believe and a lovely card when we got to our room. The hotel is really easy to find your way around, nice staff, good food and drinks (malibu sunset was a personal fave). The lamb shank was delicious for a Sunday roast. The pool and spa was great as well. Lakeside hotel and spa is a little slice of heaven, outside with all the ducks so comfortable around people and having boats you can rent right on the dock outside is amazing. I love they give you duck food and had milk and cookies out one evening. One night my partner wanted to eat in the pub there and I really fancied Mac and cheese off the room service menu and they made it for me at the pub- that’s outstanding customer service! I’d love to come back here again! I’ll never forget this holiday or hotel. Thank you for making our stay so lovely. Highly recommend!

Room wasn't cleaned prior to our arrival, it appeared some else had checked into our room but then removed. Cleaning staff was brilliant

Lovely weekend away at Lakeside Hotel. I couldn't fault the staff, very attentive and always happy to help. The lake view room and food were great. Robes and slippers provided in the rooms for spa use. Parking is behind the aquarium only a short walk away and is free for hotel guests. Will definitely be staying here again!

Very clean room and the staff were great and very helpful without being intrusive. We had the continental breakfast which was great and plentiful choice. We used the spa daily, the pool was like stepping into a bath it was so warm and we enjoyed the sauna and steam room. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing break, we took the boat to Ambleside and back and the girls in the kiosk who were very informative and pleasant. The hotel is on flat land with lots of space for walking or sitting out and having drinks hot or cold. Suitable for those of us who have mobility problems. Two lifts are available but there is a bit of a journey to reach them as they are situated in the new part of the hotel but, can’t be helped as it would have ruined the grand style if they tried to pit them near the reception Parking outside is chargeable to a separate company. Blue badge holders can park free if a token is obtained from the hotel and all others must park 400 yards further away with a token but can unload in a space outside the hotel.

Paradise. Avoid the restaurant and eat in the bistro but otherwise you’re in heaven

Attractive location right on the waterfront with boat moorings, lakeside patio and garden. Relaxed atmosphere, airy common areas and a cosy bar. We had a lovely lake view room. Good unpretentious food in the brasserie restaurant. Will come again!

Hotel is quite dated but not enough not to stay again. Staff and food all excellent.

Hotel is in a lovely location, views and easy access to all activities. But I was immediately underwhelmed by Initial welcome from staff. Which continued thoroughout my stay. Staff served you and that was it. Not much eye contact, even impatience, at one point. A solo traveller of a certain age, I felt unseen. It certainly didn’t live up to hotels statement of “your home away from home”. I was also underwhelmed by the breakfast offerings at £19.99. I opted for vegetarian option, which I couldn’t eat it as was dry, overcooked, bland with a great lack in imagination . So disappointing.

The hotel was lovely in a beautiful place and great views all round. We were upgraded which was great and the room was clean, great quality, comfortable and spacious. All the staff were very lovely and professional. The pool and sauna area was nice but I would say not to book this hotel for that as it was quite basic but a nice extra. We decided not to eat in either of the restaurants as they were both pretty expensive. One negative is there isn't really anything nearby in the way of shops or restaurants so you would have to drive for these. The breakfast was great though and we appreciated that the hot food was not a buffet but cooked fresh for each guest. Overall we had a lovely time and would love to come back again, we only stayed for one night and that didn't feel long enough!!

The room was dated but clean, apart from the loud and dusty extractor fan. The pool are was nice and had places to sit with a nice view. The real let down for me was the food, it wasn't great, the fine dining was the worst part, I couldn't eat the starter, the main was OK and the desert hard. The person that checked us in wasn't friendly and when we checked out noone asked how our stay was so think they know they have issues. Both restaurants weren't great and breakfast was just OK, if food is your thing I wouldn't stay here.

The entire property was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and the staff were not only friendly but genuinely warm and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Our room was simply perfect — a wonderful view of the lake greeted us every morning, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the silence at night was pure bliss. No traffic, no noise, just the tranquil sounds of nature. We slept better than we have in years! Breakfast was a real highlight — a lovely spread with plenty of choice, fresh and delicious. We also dined at the restaurant in the evening and were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. One of our favourite moments was relaxing in the charming courtyard with a cold draught beer, a gentle breeze in the air, while our daughter played happily in front of us watching the ducks. It's the kind of effortless, joyful experience that's hard to find. Activities like boating are available right on-site, so you truly never need to leave — and honestly, you won't want to. The hotel has everything you need to simply unwind and recharge. What sets Lakeside apart, above all, is its people. The staff take evident pride in their work, support each other beautifully as a team, and create an atmosphere that feels both grand and genuinely welcoming. We will absolutely be returning.
