We liked the place. Room was great etc. The elevator is funky, requiring patrons to fully close cage door when exiting. If not done properly, others can't use. Otherwise, the place was great.

excellent location, great service, fantastique ambiance - breakfast very good but other meals not as good as other nearby restaurants

I liked how clean the hotel was - however the rooms were musty but clean just smelled like not open for awhile — however not a lot of food choices— no early dinner seevices

This hotel is in an excellent location right across the street from the ocean and boardwalk. The room was very large (I upgraded) and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The only shortcomings were that the internet keep dropping in the room and the lighting in the room was very poor. That being said, I would start there again.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed in! Great breakfast and lovely staff. They are so accommodating and kind. 10/10. I was feeling sick and at 2am one of the lovely gentlemen got me black tea. Won’t forget this kindness. Thank you.

Good stay at this hotel. The area is nice right on the water and the ambiance and rooms are nice. A few minor issues include the poor quality for breakfast and some minor housekeeping issues. My bathroom hose had a leak and flooded the entire bathroom. Overall it was an ok stay.

Nice seafront hotel with orriental style, very close to Old Stone Town with nice terrace and rooftop restaurants. Reccomended!

The hotel is right next to the ferry, the staff is nice. Rooms and hotel in general is clean. Pool is nice. Would stay again

Excellent sejour dans cet hôtel qui a beaucoup de charme. Le personnel est au petit soin de ses hôtes, très sympathique et très serviable. La piscine est très agréable après une journée de visites.

Tout est parfait. Le personnel est extraordinaire du debut à la fin. Tres bonne localisation pour visiter stone town à pied. Et la vue sur la mer et le coucher du soleil incroyable. Sejour inoubliable dans cet hotel qui vous ramène dans lhistoire avec cette architecture coloniale.

The hotel felt really old and had a awful smell

It is classical, found in the prime area of Zanzibar town.

I loved the property. The staff was extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. The hotel was quaint and really quite nice, a typical boutique hotel. The room was clean, and the housekeeping staff made sure we had everything we needed.

Fantastic place with friendly staff and an amazing architecture

If you booked a "Presidential Suite, Sea view ", be warned you may not get one with a balcony although the pictures clearly show a balcony (on both their website and Expedia). They claimed it was some sort of a different room type and they'd upgrade me if it were to become available instead of admitting their mistake. Of course the upgrade never happened or any sort of refund/appropriate adjustment made. Overall the staff were friendly / has the location going for it. Convenient area / ocean across the hotel. Breakfast wise, unfortunately most of the hot/fried items were room temperature except for the boiled eggs and soup. Omelette station is good. Excellent fruit selection. Shower situation is weird in the presidential suites. Be prepared for water everywhere since the rain shower has no curtains, walls.. just open not to mention half the tub is taken over by the fixtures sticking out so there is no way to contain the water within the tub.

Positive -architecture of the hotel is very unique Average breakfast. Negative- dirty room cocroches in the room very uncomfortable bed noisy location slow sevice at the restaurant uneatable foot served for a dinner dirty chairs and table at the restaurant some staff with attitudes Overall below average hotel, definitely not recommended. I am also not sure if I got the correct room. I booked the presidential suite. The room look different than the one from the expedia website picture and does not feel like a presidential at all- very basic . Good that we stayed only one night.

Amazing property, extra friendly & attentive staff! I will definitely be back!

The staff was nice but the place could use some work. No AC in room and while asked several times- they told me it was ok while it just circulated air. At one point I just decided to leave and only then was I told I could be given another room. By this time- bathroom was a sauna, very dusty and only air circulating was recycled. Would not recommend.

I enjoyed the hotel and its facilities . The staff was great , very friendly and helpful. The hotel is been renewed so i should deal with some noise during my staying.
