Norfolk Hotel

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life! I have never encountered such a terrible hotel, or perhaps I shouldn't even call it a hotel; it's more like a room in a bar. First of all, there are no hotel staff here. There is no one working at the reception room. If you need anything, you have to go to the bar to find the waiters for assistance. Our room is right above the bar, and it is not soundproof at all. You can clearly hear the music and party noise from the bar, making it impossible to rest. The movement of guests (probably due to opening/closing doors and collisions) constantly shakes our door. When we inquired at the bar late at night, the waiter said they clearly mentioned that the music would stop by 12 AM, but this is not true! We booked through hotxls.com, and the website did not indicate that this was a bar with such noisy music and party sounds. Major hotel agencies and the official hotel website did not mention this either. Even after 12 AM, there were still activities and conversations from the bar staff, preventing us from resting all night. In addition to the noise and the constantly shaking door, the room is very bright even with the lights off. Please see the photos. We left around 6 AM, and the waiters had not started working yet. There was no one to check us out, so we had to leave the room key in the room and leave.

Habe die Kaution für den Schlüssel nicht zurück bekommen da niemand anwesend war. Auf meine mehrmalige Rückfrage KEINE ANTWORT erhalten. Zimmer ok, aber sehr lauter Verkehrslärm und sehr laute Betrunkene.

We had an ensuite and there was no door to the bathroom. The dust behind the TV was awful. The fridge froze everything. The bed was incredibly soft and uncomfortable. The stairs to the room were hard to navigate with bags as they were very steep. The blinds didn't close on one window. Staff were nice, welcome drink appreciated, location unbeatable and good value for Freo.

Loved everything about this hotel except the bed was against the wall on one side and no side table, husband wasn't happy with this, room was quiet small but very clean

Staff, service and food were AMAZING. The room is a classic pub room, unfortunately ours had a pretty strong bad smell, and the shower was incredibly difficult to regulate the temperature. The bed was pretty comfy and the place was really clean. Had a coffee machine, milk, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer.

The staff were always very helpful during our week long stay. Housekeeping was 100% awesome. Great hotel for location as everything was within walking distance.

Bar, classy and rustic

One of the finest hotels above a bar, what some say a pub, that I ever seen.

Hôtel placé juste à côté du centre de Fremantel. Situation idéale. Un restaurant/bar se situe dans le bas de l'hôtel ce qui est idéal pour dîner ou boire un verre. Un peu moins cool pour dormir en raison du bruit des joyeux consommateurs jusqu'à env minuit. On a eu une autre chambre car le store de la première était inopérant. Surclassés avec une très grande chambre. Le personnel est accueillant et très arrangeant. Nous sommes au final très satisfaits de ce logement 👍.

I loved the hotel but being 71 years old the stairs and no bathroom in the rooms proved a problem for me. I must say I was very impressed by all the members members of staff members and the help they gave me was wonderful. I only stayed 1 night instead of 2 and was refunded the money very promptly. I would definitely recommend this venue for younger people.

Right in the heart of Fremantle, rooms were very clean and had everything we needed, staff were lovely! We even received a free drink each down at the bar. Such good value for money, would stay again :)

The Norfolk is in a very central part of Freo, with the markets across the road and other bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. The room was huge, clean and quite modern considering the age of the building. I've always considered the Norfolk staff to have great customer service however this went up a notch when checking in and out. I've visited the Norfolk many times however this was my first stay and i'm really glad i chose it. The pub closes at midnight so no need to worry about noisy patrons. Hopefully i'll be able to stay there again some day.

Absolutely loved my stay! Highly recommended!! Bed was so comfortable, rooms so clean, i clusi g all areas. Shared bathroom was amazing, towels always available. Amazing location, wouldnt stay anywhere else! Bar/restaurant below amazing. Staff all so friendly. 5/5!!

My stay was really good, even being in the last single room! it was nice. It was clean and comfortable and well maintained. The room was quite small, but well laid out and had everything you need. The complimentary welcome drink was a nice suprise! Great location and venue

The room was clean and the A/C functioned well. Although we had a shared bathroom the hand basin was very handy. The property is old therefore you expect it to be a bit run down which can add to the charm. We paid a good price [also dictated by no ensuite but for one night that was not an issue] and so value for money was good. The only downside of this hotel are the steps to the rooms, which could be a challenge for those with medical issues. Lovely outdoor area and we enjoyed our food there. Great location to the main hub of Freo, the Jail and markets. At the price we paid we will definitely rebook there.
