This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life! I have never encountered such a terrible hotel, or perhaps I shouldn't even call it a hotel; it's more like a room in a bar. First of all, there are no hotel staff here. There is no one working at the reception room. If you need anything, you have to go to the bar to find the waiters for assistance. Our room is right above the bar, and it is not soundproof at all. You can clearly hear the music and party noise from the bar, making it impossible to rest. The movement of guests (probably due to opening/closing doors and collisions) constantly shakes our door. When we inquired at the bar late at night, the waiter said they clearly mentioned that the music would stop by 12 AM, but this is not true! We booked through hotxls.com, and the website did not indicate that this was a bar with such noisy music and party sounds. Major hotel agencies and the official hotel website did not mention this either. Even after 12 AM, there were still activities and conversations from the bar staff, preventing us from resting all night. In addition to the noise and the constantly shaking door, the room is very bright even with the lights off. Please see the photos. We left around 6 AM, and the waiters had not started working yet. There was no one to check us out, so we had to leave the room key in the room and leave.

The Norfolk is in a very central part of Freo, with the markets across the road and other bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. The room was huge, clean and quite modern considering the age of the building. I've always considered the Norfolk staff to have great customer service however this went up a notch when checking in and out. I've visited the Norfolk many times however this was my first stay and i'm really glad i chose it. The pub closes at midnight so no need to worry about noisy patrons. Hopefully i'll be able to stay there again some day.

Absolutely loved my stay! Highly recommended!! Bed was so comfortable, rooms so clean, i clusi g all areas. Shared bathroom was amazing, towels always available. Amazing location, wouldnt stay anywhere else! Bar/restaurant below amazing. Staff all so friendly. 5/5!!

My stay was really good, even being in the last single room! it was nice. It was clean and comfortable and well maintained. The room was quite small, but well laid out and had everything you need. The complimentary welcome drink was a nice suprise! Great location and venue

The room was clean and the A/C functioned well. Although we had a shared bathroom the hand basin was very handy. The property is old therefore you expect it to be a bit run down which can add to the charm. We paid a good price [also dictated by no ensuite but for one night that was not an issue] and so value for money was good. The only downside of this hotel are the steps to the rooms, which could be a challenge for those with medical issues. Lovely outdoor area and we enjoyed our food there. Great location to the main hub of Freo, the Jail and markets. At the price we paid we will definitely rebook there.

The room was ok .

Clean room, amenities were great. Really good shower and comfy bed. Helpful staff and complimentary drinks was nice that went with the pizza we ordered in bar which was yum!! The only issue (which we expected but not as much was the noise level as it was extra noisy for a Wednesday night and we were kept awake til the pub closed at midnight.

Perfect area

No AC in the room. Probably fine in winter, but in the middle of summer it was like a sauna with only a ceiling fan.

It's all about the price. I can't afford high priced accommodation. They gave me a clean and comfortable room with a shared clean bathroom, with parking in a well located part of Fremantle. A free drink at the bar too. I don't need penthouse luxury, I want value for money. Satisfied.

The staff are super and facilities all good. Shared toilet and shower block worked out just fine - clean and well stocked. Room #3 has everything you could wish for for the single traveler. I wasn't expecting the hotel to be quiet on a Saturday night, as it hosts the most popular bar in Freo, but a fraction more sound-proofing in the room would help take the edge off the pumping beats from the sound system downstairs (it was oddly quieter in the corridor just outside the room). All went silent at midnight, as promised! Reasonably priced for a convenient and fun place to stay in the popular area of Freo. Much appreciated!
