The place was generally clean but everything was falling apart. The owners tried to maintain as best as they could. They were a lovely couple, honest, straightforward and helpful. The rooms were big, with a view of the lake from every room.
The beach was at a steep slant, so a bit difficult to get up and down. The water was clean. They had a few kayaks but they weren't that great and there was a cost for using them. I feel like the kayaks should have been included in the cost of renting a cottage.
There were fire pits but no wood to burn. It seemed like one had to get their own wood.
It was ok for a weekend, but I wouldn't go back.

Me and my wife stayed for one night and before booking I was concerned re some of the reviews. It looks to me that the owners are trying to restart this property. It definetly could be a great destination. This property with its location provides a great launching base for all type of travelers heading into Algonquin Park. We stayed in the motel rooms over looking the lake. The rooms along that side have been fully renovated inside and was spotless. New bathroom, flooring and furniture all of it new!
It was perfect for our needs as we canoue out of the outfitters across the road the next day. For this purpose I highly recommend this place. As for the grounds they do need work and once they achieve this then it would be great for longer stays. If you want to start and end your Algonquin Park experience with a clean shower, bed and a relaxing night then I highly recommend this place.

Booked one night stay to attend a celebration of life in Algonquin Park. The room served its purpose. The building is rustic with a lot of potential. Lakeside had a great view of Oxtongue Lake. Water was clear. Amenities available for gathering as a group and BBQ's also available. Would recommend.

The room was clean but very basic; the husband and wife team that manages the property (for someone else) were friendly; the property urgently needs a face lift. It looks quite worn. The view and location were excellent. The WiFi did not work; there was no dining facility. The water quality for washing is quite basic since the water is pumped straight from Oxtongue Lake! We would not stay there again or recommend it to our friends.

Mike was a polite front desk worker but hard to get a hold of. There was coffee and water and working microwave. Inn was covered with ice—including roadway and entrance to room area. Kind of dangerous. Things were not very clean and water wasn’t hot. There is no restaurant or meal available. With some work this would be an awesome spot. I chose it for the closeness to Algonquin and activities I was doing there. For the big price you pay, not sure I would choose the Inn again
