The staff were lovely and very welcoming, and the hotel was exactly what we were looking for — somewhere comfortable and relaxing.
The rooms were generally clean, although they could have benefited from a little more attention to dusting. There are also a couple of small improvements that I think would really help elevate the rooms and potentially the hotel’s star rating. Smart TVs would be a great addition, allowing guests to use services such as Netflix, and replacing the shower curtains over the baths with proper shower screens would make a noticeable difference.
The gym and swimming pool were both really good and a great addition to the hotel. The signage around the hotel could perhaps be improved, as it can feel a little like a maze when trying to find your way around.
The breakfast was really nice, with a good choice of options, and represented good value for money.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt the hotel provided everything we needed for a good one-night break. With a few small improvements, it could be even better.

Great family stay – relaxing and enjoyable
We had a lovely two-day family stay at Forest Pines Resort in August 2026. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and a great place for a short family break.
The resort is set in a beautiful, peaceful environment, and there was plenty to enjoy as a family. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the facilities were good, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed the leisure facilities and the relaxed atmosphere of the resort.
It was a good balance of relaxation and family time, and we left feeling refreshed. We would definitely consider staying at Forest Pines again and would recommend it to families looking for a pleasant short getaway.

The Hotel was lovely the staff were polite the rooms were clean but only problem was the toilet was really low and my mum had mobility problems also we found that it was really low for the other family members. It was nice and accessible in the Hotel but too get to the Hotel pool and gym it was a rather long walk and to the other bar where the golfing was. I thought I was a bit expensive for what we paid for the double room for 4.

I stay here quite regularly and would usually give 4 stars however on this occasion it has to be three. I booked a king bed room and got two singles joined together with a gap through the middle making for a particularly uncomfortable sleep. I also chose to eat in the bar, very very overpriced.

Overall, our stay was okay, but there were a few disappointing aspects that took the shine off what should have been a straightforward overnight stay.
Before booking, we asked about checking in early because we were attending a wedding and our coach was leaving at 11am. The hotel was completely inflexible and stuck rigidly to its 3pm check-in policy. However, when we arrived at 10am, the receptionist said early check-in was available for £10 an hour, subject to room availability, which would have added £50. We felt that was steep. In the end, we left our bags at reception and had to ask another wedding guest if we could use their room to get ready, which we really shouldn’t have had to do.
The room itself was comfortable enough, but I was surprised there wasn’t even a small fridge. During very hot weather, being unable to keep drinks or food chilled is a basic convenience I’d expect from a hotel charging this sort of price. The air conditioning was also disappointing, as it switched itself off after about an hour of use, so I had to keep waking up throughout the night to turn it back on.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the value for money. We paid £152 for one night, only to discover breakfast wasn’t included and would have cost an additional £14 per person (£28 for two). At that room rate, charging extra for breakfast felt excessive and left the overall stay feeling poor value.

Stayed here on a number of occasions. Always find the mattress too hard and the pillows too soft and the road noise a little distracting. Amenities are good, overall general aesthetics are good and clean but notice some areas need more focus on cleaning and maintenance throughout the property. Food, drink and staff assistance are excellent.

A really friendly greeting at reception, with helpful guidance. The room was of a very high standard, clean and fresh, with a good supply of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Beds were comfy, only niggle was that the extra pillows provided were really lumpy.
Extremely helpful staff in the breakfast room, very courteous and friendly.There was a good selection of hot food for breakfast, and a lovely selection of fruit, sweet melon slices and fresh fruit salad.
We had taken our dogs, and one little warning for other dog owners is that the grassy, wooded area for walking dogs has a lot of deer ticks, so good idea to check dogs after walking.
We enjoyed our stay and the use of the pool.

Room could do with some attention to detail when being cleaned, nice large size room and very comfortable beds, staff did come to the room ask 21:15 and asked to enter, not entirely sure why? Breakfast was delicious lots to choose from, would have been nice if we was told we could order eggs to our liking unfortunately we weren’t, bar and bar food was rather expensive and not worth the price paid
