Staff were exemplary, very warm and made us feel at home immediately. The room was very clean and well appointed. Would definitely stay at The Russell Hotel again.
Only negative was the lighting in the room, which was not bright enough to read by, only a very small negative.

We had a wonderful time here. The hotel was in a very good location, easy walking distance from the town. We had a lovely twin room, which was very warm. We were greeted by a lovely lady, but all staff were great. The breakfast was delicious. We would go back.

Very 'tired' hotel. My room had no desk or proper table with appropriate chair. Had to 'make' my own to use my laptop comfortably. Breakfast was very average. Great location, though, so good value hotel if you just want B & B.

During my stay the whole of Tunbridge wells had no water. When I called the team in the morning, they explained the situation (out of their control) still managed to get breakfast together for guests. They apologised profusely and communicated well about the situation so I could figure out what to do with the day. Then they honoured compensation for the night. A difficult situation with excellent customer service.

This was a 90’s throwback. The decor hasn’t been touched since sponging paint and patterned borders. It needs SO much work. The guy on reception was clearly unhappy in his job and lacked customer service skills. The breakfast was ok but I had cold tea and no selection of pastries.
The room was however very big and the location is ideal. I paid over £200 for 2 nights .. this is a shocking price for s very run down hotel. No lift access either so up 4 flights of stairs with a bad leg . I could go on about it but won’t. Definitely won’t return unless it has a makeover and a new receptionist
