Booked through hotel.com. Arrived at the hotel was informed that the kitchen was off so I’d need to go elsewhere to eat or order a takeaway. Got into the room to be greeted by bodily fluid stains on the bedding, black mould on the shower walls, more mould on the window, a bathroom sink that looked like a scene from Saltburn and a shower base that was collapsing. Went down stairs, to ask for another room and they were full booked. Asked to speak to the manager who was in a meeting at 18:45. Rejected the room. Called hotel.com who told me to go and find somewhere else and they would deal with the property. 5 days later and the property haven’t answered a single email or call from myself or Hotel.com which means according to hotel.com’s policy means they are allowed to keep your money. Do yourself a favour and keep your money in your pocket.

The staff were incredibly kind, giving me an upgrade to the honeymoon suite. The hotel itself is tired and access through the pub isn’t the best welcome, but the staff more than made up for it. That’s bed was comfy and there was a roll top bath in the room, as well as an em suite with a short. Great value for money.

Parking is onsite, i had a room in the chalets and it is great.

Easy to park. Currently undergoing an upgrade with new rooms and function area at back. Front bar is a work in progress.

Very noisy, not clean

Basic but functional

We stayed at The Coach Hotel and I wouldn't stay another. The rooms were nothing like what was advertised. They felt run down and unclean, and the bathroom had a strong mould smell that was genuinely unpleasant. Our room was directly above the jukebox, and it vibrated with the music. In my view, that space should not be sold as a bedroom. I appreciate it is accommodation above a pub, but this was on another level. The only small positive was that the music stopped at midnight. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend reading the negative reviews before booking. Our room, and a friend’s room further down the hall, looked nothing like the photos. After staying there, I find the positive reviews hard to believe.

The room really needs a mirror, the mattress was comfortable enough but has a damaged spring as was noisy, aslo has roll inwards, maybe time to replace. Shower was fantastic, which is unusual for a top floor. I would remove the runner from the bed as it was covered in stains but bedding clean and fresh. My room was above the smoking area so really noisy on the Sunday night and the guys outside in the morning were not quiet. (I think staff) Cheap so didn't expect more but great location for NEC. I can see some work is being done and hope it continues. Recommend Partridges Deli for Breakfast down the street, it was amazing.

Staff were absolutely fantastic so welcoming which made it better for me as I have never worked away from home before I wouldn’t go to any other hotel if I have to stay in Birmingham for work in future I will only use these guys absolutely fantastic

We have an excellent room in what would have been a coaching inn, now a local public house. Very happy stay.

Clean room, comfy bed, well-sealed shower, warm room (but not too hot) even though it was a cold night.

Just not a hotel

very cheap stay so got what we paid for! staff were lovely but wouldn’t go back, room didn’t have a key and room not very clean. But like i said we paid £26 for a quick stay over.

Small carpark, but managed to get a spot, but i think if you arrived later in the evening it may be difficult, but ample parking on the street, very convienient location, lots of food places on the high street. I used it for a trip to the NEC, which was just a few miles away. This is no luxury hotel, you get what you pay for, we had a twin room in a building in the car park, had very thin walls and could hear everything going on in the room next door, the windows werent double glazed, i think this is due to the age of the building, and i just happened to be the bed near the window, it was really drafty. The room it very basic, but clean, could have done with some kind of dressing table and mirror to be able to plug in my straightners to do my hair, instead it was a bit of a mission heating them up in the room then having to unplug them and run to the bathroom mirror while they were still hot, then repeating that process several times to get my hair done. But at the end of the day you get what you pay for, and was just looking for somewhere to get my head down after a long drive to birmingham. Very much a no frills hotel.

The door between rooms and pub, which was meant to be keycard only, was broken. The bed had springs poking up. The bottom of the shower was flimsy. I ended up not staying here and just picked up my bags and left.

After a 2 night booking we left as early as poss the next day and booked into somewhere else, filthy black mould in shower and windows (health hazard) both rooms no window mechanism to secure closure, fire/smoke alarm hanging from ceiling, fire door missing intumescent smoke strip (hazard/illegal), unable to fill kettle from sink tap (had to use shower! in general this place should be shut down! seriously, take it off your books hotels.com as it is detrimental to your busines.

Lovely clean modern room. Friendly staff. The best bar in town.

Plenty of parking. The room was new and well laid out. A couple of personal minor items like no blind on the Velux window or the glass panel in the door which meant light in the room which I am not used to. But that aside a really good stay at a great price.

Faecal matter on toilet seat (top & underneath) on arrival. Radiators not on & no instructions on how to work them. Shower plug blocked & water not going down. No liquid soap in shower container so had to get out of the shower to use the liquid soap by the basin, which subsequently ran out. The room should have been pay on arrival but they tried yo take the money at 1pm & then rang me to say it hadn’t gone through, they were about to cancel the booking. No mobile phone reception in the bedroom & no hotel wifi. I have never had such a bad experience before. Would not stay again.

The hotel unfornately is not as advertised on the booking portal. The room I stayed in was damp, unkempt and smelly. The heating and TV worked fine and the bathroom was newly fitted and unfortunately again leaking into the bedroom.
