The hotel was a bit outdated, but well maintained and clean. Amenities were thoughtful and easy to find. We were invited to help ourselves to combs, hair ties, cotton pads, and extra yukatas to borrow. LThere was a sauna, jet bath, and an outside bath overlooking the ocean(roten buro). Staff were courteous and helpful. I was glad choosing the option including the breakfast, which was amazing, and had a variety of traditional Japanese, American, and dessert foods.

Everything was good during the stay except that it’s a bit far from JR Station, and the bus service wasn’t that frequent for getting around.

This is a budget hotel that I normally would not go for. We only chose this hotel because our stay coincided with a marathon in Hakodate and this was one of a few hotels that still had available rooms. I didn’t have high expectations given its relatively low review score but I still felt disappointed with my stay.
The room was older than I expected although it was clean. We stayed in a Japanese-style room and the futons were so thin that I felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I had stayed at a Japanese-style room several times at other hotels. This was the first time that I had trouble sleeping. What made me feel worse was that they hiked the room rate because of the marathon, and I had to pay more than 40,000 Japanese yen for 1 night in such an old and uncomfortable room.
The only positive thing was their friendly staff. A Mandarin-speaking girl helped us with the check-in and explained everything clearly. She also helped us booked a taxi as we had an early flight the next morning. I really appreciated that.

靠海的老飯店，牆壁會有些斑駁、電梯會搖晃，但整體來說乾淨整潔，海景套房窗外就是海岸，8樓有露天溫泉可以聽海浪泡湯(但玻璃牆會充滿霧氣所以無法看海景)，自助晚餐尚可，品質不一，蟹腳好吃

一、以交通來說，地點不算太好，從JR函館以公車拉一趟要約20分鐘，更別說還要配合公車班次。
走路到市電要20分鐘。
二、訂非吸煙房，進房卻滿屋可怕煙味，打電話請客房人員換房，原表示不准任何理由換房，願意到場處理，便在我們面前開始噴灑芳香劑，邊噴客房人員也覺得很尷尬，因為實在煙味太濃，開始幫我們打電話換房。
三、客房比想像中簡陋，旅館照片稍微美化。
五、大浴場提供溫泉水，設施不錯。露天溫泉實在無敵，雖然行程很趕，還是硬在接近深夜十二點及凌晨湊出時間泡了兩次露天溫泉！！

面對津輕海峽的露天溫泉非常棒，我們住面海的和式房，空間寬敞、清潔，非常不錯，飯店服務也很好。附的早晚餐不錯，特別是晚餐有提供吃到飽的蟹腳。由於位置在湯之川溫泉，離函館市區稍遠，像我們這樣的自由行旅客不多、大多數是旅行團的團體客人。

Very large room. Loved the ocean view and the public bath: there’s two on site. If you have time, the whole neighborhood is full of onsens so it’s a good base to explore. Very close to the airport, only 10-15 minutes away.
From central hakodate it’s about 40 minutes on the tram.

We enjoyed our stay here. The food was delicious. The service was attentive. We were just not used to how hot the Japan onsen was but it was nice to have two different area. The kids really enjoyed the ping pong tables and the vintage video game room. We enjoyed the dinner buffet, but the breakfast could be better.
The bedding - sleep mats were super thin and were hard to sleep on. We did asked for it to be double up to help with the hard floor. The front desk was able to arrange for this except if we want it set up by the staff there is additional charge. We didn’t mind doing it ourselves for free.
