I have stayed in a room with an in room private bath and booked through hotels.com and I didn't expect that an in room private bath is not using hot spring water especially in a hot spring ryokan (Japanese style hotel). I was so disappointed at the moment when I checked in and was informed by the staff that no hot spring water will be used for the private bath. I suggested the hotel or the booking web site should have stated this clearly. Even I have used the google translation service to read the hotel web site and they didn't say anything about the in room private bath is not providing hot spring water. What is the point I have to pay extra to book a in room private bath without hot spring water. The word "bath" is confusing, they use "open air bath", "chartered private bath", "public bath", how can travelers tell which one is using hot spring water or not? The purpose of staying in a hot spring hotel is to enjoy the hot spring / onsen.
Besides that, staff is nice, room is spacious and nice view but unfortunately it was raining during my stay so not able to see mt. fuji
